Tayrona Park in Colombia is one of Colombia's must-visit sites. Tayrona is a national park located along the Caribbean Sea. The beach is only reachable by hiking for several hours through the thick jungle. If you're lucky like us, you'll even see Monkeys! Tayrona Park is a natural paradise in Colombia and therefore there are many restrictions in place to protect the wildlife including closing the park for several months out of the year. So make sure you check the Tayrona Park website before planning your trip!

Hola, porque no seguiste los otros senderos ? La playa nudista o playa arrecife, que el agua es tranquila y más cristalina y mucha menos gente.
@EmmaOfer
@EmmaOfer 3 года назад

Hi, great footage. I'm glad to see you guys had a great trip. I'm planning on visiting SM and starting my research. Question: Is hiking the only way to go to the beach? I saw a van in your video clip. So, I'm not sure if you could van it or if it's a mandatory hike. And if you wanted to return the same day, how was the trip back? Thanks for the beautiful sights.
@EmmaOfer
@EmmaOfer 2 года назад
Thank you! The van will get you down to the trailhead (you can walk also but it’s long and not very exciting). From there the only two options are to walk or hire a horse. We did the whole thing in one day (van & hike) but between the hike and eating lunch we didn’t have much time for the beach. So I think if you’re just looking for a nice day of hiking it’s great in one day. If you want to spend many hours lounging at the beach I would recommend an overnight in the park OR using the horses. Apparently they cut the hike down to about 1.5hrs each way

@afsilvat 10 месяцев назад
I don't know if you still need this, but anyway. Yes, you can hire a horse to do the hike for you, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you are physically fit to do the hike (this path is of a moderate intensity), by all means do the hike, because it's amazing and a sight on itself. However, from Santa Marta, Rodadero and Taganga you can also hire a boat that will take you into the park from the sea. It can cost you some money, but you will save tons of time and effort and you will be left right into the city by the end of the day. Boats can also take you to other beaches inside the park that are a day or so away by foot or cannot be accessed at all from this side of the park, like Playa Cristal or Bahía Concha. Remember Tayrona National Park is huge and has several entrances and things you can do inside it. It all comes down to the activities you prefer. If you are a nature person and like hiking, definitely hike your way through the park and stay at least one night inside. What you see here is the most popular option: through the Cañaveral entrance, you hike your way through Arrecifes and La Piscinita to Cabo San Juan. For people who like hiking, they stay the night at Cabo San Juan and then continue the morning after to hike up the mountain to Pueblito (much more challenging hike than the one we see here), which is a little indigenous village with some archaeological sites to visit, and they exit the park via Calabazo entrance, in a completely different section of the road than the one they got in through. There are different options, all of them worth it.

Hi guys. Thank you for the video. Is it possible to take a horse on the way back or do I need to take it both ways? Thank you.
@EmmaOfer
@EmmaOfer 2 года назад
You can rent a horse on the way back! There’s a short walk from the beach but once you get to the forested area you will see them lined up and waiting for customers

Interesting ecosystem s ; thank you for sharing. My copy of my passport is accepted in Medellin for : pool pass at Natación piscinas, for EnCicla free bicycles. I copy and laminate the copy of thedata page that shows my passport number. I like hiking in parque s in Department de Antioquia. Also the pathway from Barichara to Guane; and cable car ride at Parque Chicamocha where the canyon is as deep and long as the Grand Canyon in USA

Hi from Australia - a couple of questions. You spent the previous day in this hotel, then went into the beach the following day. Where did you spend the night that day? did you go back to the hotel? Thanks.
@EmmaOfer
@EmmaOfer Год назад
Yup! We went back to the hotel afterward. I will say it was a bit of a mad dash to get back to the entrance before sunset (and the mosquitos thicken quickly as the sun sets) so if you want to lounge by the beach all day you might want to do the camping option or one of the lodges in the park

I probably wouldn’t recommend it. It gets very hot and there were a few somewhat challenging points.
