Was thinking Bryce Courtenay books would be good to read on a long haul flight given how thick they are! And theres a couple of trilogies he wrote. He's my fave author, and April Fool's Day is up there for me, tho it's non-fiction. Also his book Jessica had me viscerally hating a character in a way I never have before. If you're into giving YA a try Songs that Sound Like Blood. I've read it myself and reviews indicate that even tho it's list as YA it fits into the New Adult genre as well. It's written by Jared Thomas. who is a South Aussie and the book is set in Port Augusta and Adelaide. It's an Indigenous LGBTQ story. In science fiction The Day of the Triffids was a good book. We read it for school, so have forgotten most of it. I've read several Arthur Hailey books too
