Seen Bob! Looks like a great jacket, and love the fact its still being refined. Would an additional adaption be hood storage in the collar? I always find that hoods that don't store away can get caught up, especially if hacking through some gnarly territory. Classic design, look forward to seeing it completed!
@@TheBushcraftStorecom that's great, something similar to the British army smock? Button and loop system? Would keep on theme with the jacket, ease of repairs if necessary in the field 👍🏼
Really like that. One suggestion... On the one you are wearing, the elasticated wind cuffs on the wrist stick out beyond the sleeve which could end up in wet wrist cuffs. Many jackets have the cuffs hidden under a slightly longer sleeve and the longer sleeve with the velcro adjuster makes life just a little more comfortable in the field. Love to see this in development cheers guys . Seen Bob.
Hunters Moon yes, I agree. The one being worn had experimental, after market cuffs sewn on. The standard jacket will not have these but we will probably offer it as an after market add on but in a different position. It’s all experimental at the moment and we are still working out the kinks.
@@TheBushcraftStorecom sweet. A zip in winter fleece option could be a possibility too ???? All great stuff. I love the look of it and will no doubt get one.
Make some sizes for the larger Bushcraft enthusiast I suffer from an under active thyroid gland and as such gained a lot of weight very difficult to lose no matter how hard I try and it’s a nightmare finding outdoor clothing and sleeping bags to fit they all seem to be made for 30 inch waist racing snakes lol
See your local surplus store......”Smock Combat Temperate” or US M65 jacket, please believe me when I say I’m not being rude or trying to be cocky, just asking what’s the real difference between the surplus jacket and the TBS one apart from a very few minor upgrades? Kind regards Clive from deepest Dorset 👍
Clive Newton the major difference (apart from build quality) is that this is made from treated Ventile cotton. It is weatherproof material that is supremely breathable and costs about £30 per metre. (There’s about 4m2 in this jacket) They haven’t made a decent military jacket out of Ventile or treated Gabardine since the 80’s and the likelihood of you finding anything that is of the same quality or has features like this in a surplus are non existent. There are some manufacturers still using Ventile for their clothing but they will all be £350+ We are probably not going ahead with this project as it would need to sell for around £400 and that is quite a limited market at the moment.
