It's hard to find words to describe playing of this order, when we've already said 'amazing', 'incredible', 'wonderful', etc! I"m sitting her on my computer and I want to give him a huge standing ovation!
to the people who pushed the dislike button: just a bit more practice and you can master the cursor... you almost hit the rightone ; ) veeeery nice play man! just incredible
Браво, Александр!!! Великолепный музыкант! В училище шеф предлагал мне взять этот концерт на гос.экзамен, но я отказался, видимо не дорос тогда. Получил огромное удовольствие! Благодарю!!!
Astounding playing - I'm learning accordion and its really inspiring to see the musical and interpretative possibilities of the instrument (as well as unbelievable virtuosity). Thanks for posting this - fantastic!
Magnifique !
This is excellent. And what adds to its value is (1) this movement is performed integrally without cuts and (2) he uses the superior Leopold Auer emendations which are demonstrably better than the original. I have heard the first movement of this concerto so performed, live, and would hope that this soloist would make an attempt at it, if he has not done so already. But I cannot praise this achievement highly enough.
This IS excellent, but... since he does use the Auer "emendations", that means he uses the Auer cuts - all of them, just like Heifetz. So it's not "integrally without cuts" at all. Tchaikovsky's original is the standard and so any alterations are by default less than "demonstrably better". Arguably better? Nonetheless, this accordion player is just amazing.
Martin Haub My unfortunate choice of words. But actually, one of Auer's cuts he does not use, in the development section, and I would advocate restoring this short passage even when using the Auer version. Tchaikovsky's original may be the standard text, but it is not universally used on all occasions, mainly because it is excessively repetitive. I should perhaps say "arguably better." The Rococo Variations are usually performed in a heavily edited version, which one could say works better than Tchaikovsky's own sprawling original. And when it comes to Rimsky-Korsakov's editing of Mussorgsky's work - yes, M. may have been far more original, but R-K made it musically far more articulate, which at least to me makes far more sense overall. There are many such instances in the musical repertoire - and it should not be a blind assertion of "Only what the Master Wrote" which can be considered fatuous and presumptive. Oftentimes it does take another musical mind to bring a work properly to life.
Truly wonderful performance, is there any possibility of a version without the cuts? Tchaikovsky's original has better and more satisfying harmonic architecture. But thank you anyway for you mastery.
wow......just amazing.....love this concerto and to hear it played so well on an accordion is unreal........just amazing......and my memory too.....well done!
