He's one of the greatest violinist of this time. The way he stands his ground - literally - is a marvel to watch. He takes his energy from the ground, transferring it directly to the string. He can do whatever he likes, and does so with superb taste and technique. He really moves me, a young guy transferring the violin playing tradition and exploring the repertoire in a genial way. No words.

Oh, this guy is everything! The orchestra - beyond glorious! (By the way, when the concert master gets up OUT OF HIS CHAIR to shake your hand - especially from an Orchestra with the storied history that the Finish Radio Symphony Orchestra has - you have indeed earned their respect. That was a HUGE gesture.) Back to Augustin: I love how he provides such a soft and light touch to certain phrases. Where most violinists attack, Augustin finesses. 1:55 - such a delicate touch. This is fiddle playing totally in the vein of Heifetz, Pearlman, Zimmerman (we can give Zimmermann his props, too); Isaac Stern, etc. - I mean the OLD masters. We are so flooded with 12-year-olds playing this and that, that we forget the Titans who Put the Violin On the Map have already played these pieces, and many of their performances have RARELY been equaled to this day. When Augustin plays, it's like someone is either talking or singing, period. I simply do not hear a violin. I have tried and tried and tried, but I DON'T hear a violin. It sounds like something all together different. If you want to talk technique - just listen to 28:24, there's a flourish of lower notes (that pattern repeats itself a few times), and most violinist don't give much attention to that section. With Augustin, it's beyond clear; it actually comes very much alive. Brilliant! This man is a living legend!

Violonist here 😄🤚 This encore piece is very, very difficult because of the virtuosic bow part. It's not tremolo but ricochet (that's the term in France) . In fact, the bow touch each string successively with a very quick bounce and it requiert lot of years to master... After 10 years with violin, i can only dreaming of playing like that 🥺😅
@Exelitious
@Exelitious 3 года назад
@@rebpv7537 Yeah, and ricochet is very annoying to get down right, since you have to get every bounce to be very similar to the first one for ricochet to even sound a bit consistent. Thank you so much Augustine, that was exceptionally Brilliant and Stunning and incredibly beautiful too, so much passion and sensitivity and pathos too. Thank you so much you really really make my heart smile, and there’s another young violinist that is really really Brilliant too and that’s Ray Chen. I really really love both of you. I really really hope that you are friends too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

Beautiful... exquisitely poignant expression. A gift to witness. Spanish encore piece was stunning. So happy he will be returning to perform with the FWSO in the '21 - '22 season.

Two of the most difficult pieces for violin excellently interpreted! Thank Augustin.

I like the pathos Hadelich brings to the 2nd movement. In many ways the slow movement is hardest because you have to show emotion without lapsing into affect.

With his tone and his musicality I would count him to the best top violin player of today (Kavakos, Rachlin, Zimmermann, ...). I like especially his Bartok 2 and his Sibelius (no simple concerts, technically and musically).
