An exquisite concert. Hadelich deserves all the accolades he gets but the orchestra is wonderful. The oboe is beautifully played and provides the support the soloist needs for the beautiful passages he delivers. This is a collaboration of so many musicians, their teachers, the countless instrument makers, all the technical support and let us not forget dear old Brahms.

Brahms is most difficult as far as structural complexity; easily get lost but Hadelich handled it nicely. Wonderful orchestra and recording too.

Hadelich is a beautiful player in his own right. I admire his dedication to play music even after this accident. I somehow feel it did make him the better and integral to his musical character. It is a kind of pure warmth and sincerity in the music? Any case a great virtuoso.

@@jocelynleung9376 Oh so he was a kid when it happened. In other words it was pointless for mister Kaiser to bring it up.

He was 15 years old already with many years of training and concertos so is not pointless. A less stronger character would have said Good Bye to dreams and hopes.

@@FriendlyCroock Lol Life experience is pointless? Get real, everything adds up when imbuing your soul to music speaking as someone who's hearing impaired. You're just too sensitive. He is someone who triumphed over adversity even if he already had it in him. Many great players endured challenges, nothing to be ashamed of.

I liked this concerto from the first listen, but it continues to grow on me. Brahms was a harmonic structural master of the highest degree. It takes time for us non-super geniuses to understand him.
