Why do I get the feeling that this ad is just encouraging us all to steal cable? Those greedy corporate fat cats steal from us, so what's one less golden back scratcher for them?
I formerly belonged to Comcast, and are they ripoffs! I decided to give them a dose of their own medicine when I got in financial difficulty in 2011 and decided to rip them off. I got away with it for about four years. I also did not go to the hoosegow, either. I wish those stinkweeds would go out of business; Verizon is the better carrier
My dad would rage over people stealing cable when I was a kid. I couldn't figure out the big deal since it didn't interfere with my cartoons at the time
He was probably one of those types of people that say "if you want it you have to pay for it" or maybe he was a religious guy and says "stealing is a sin" or the latter
I was a loyal Direct TV customer gor 26 years until AT&T purchased it. AT&T is too big to care because they cutback on service and increased their fees. Everything AT&T touches turns to shit.
This same commercial was also on my cable company, Marcus Cable. It's called "Cable Amnesty". The difference on this commercial was the cable man had just a blue hat with no logo. This commercial was very dumb. I even have the second commercial with various customers talking about stealing cable such as "I thought it was a VCR!" and "So we put a dual switch in it, HBO came on!" Just a stupid ad campaign but it does happen.
There's also another one where a cable man had unleashed many vicious dogs from the cable TV van and the same man from this commercial is trapped on the telephone pole.
it depends on a few things. Sometimes the cable is on the same pole as the power and telephone. We call that an aerial. And if the electricity or telephone comes in by underground, then the cable will go the same way.
Someone I know had one around this time (paid for basic cable, but just used the descrambler to get all channels- even pay per view :) never got caught, but he did stop using the box.
