This is a channel for vintage commercials, newscasts, and items mostly from long-gone businesses, political candidates, and local TV stations. All copyrights acknowledged. All videos are uploaded for historical and educational purposes only and can be removed if needed or may be updated. All material is of varying quality (audio and video) based on original source material.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO UPLOAD SPECIFIC ITEMS, MONTAGES, NEWSCASTS! What I have is based on what I have been able to find and, outside of content from South Louisiana, is usually what all I have uncovered on various tapes. Likewise, given I am from Louisiana, any content from other states may have some dating errors--please send any modifications or post them in comments, and the descriptions will be updated with information to ensure better accuracy.
Ok, first, he's not crazy. He's just an idiot who thinks he's acting "crazy". Second, the lyrics should be "He ain't crazy but he sure looks stupid." What a tool. And yet, I remembered him. Maybe I'M crazy🤪

Aye so back to bring a finding I was made aware of on Discord: Based on a newspaper article discussing problems officials were having with the system's audio published a few months before this override was initiated, the system used here may have specifically been Cadco's Civil Emergency Alert System or at least another override system by the company! Taking that into consideration, and I must emphasize the following speculation should be taken with a big grain of salt since I haven't yet gone and verified it, I've also noticed the attention tone and the static screen that keeps popping up for a split second looks and sounds a lot like the overrides from Hamilton County, South Sioux City, and Kadena Air Base. I wonder if those were from the same system or similar?
@@eieiw32424 From the amount of scouring I've done on the web, I don't think this one and the similar ones are from CommAlert units. One of the advertisements I've seen for the CEAS describes it as having a "warble" tone, which does line up with the tones that the overrides like this one use. Additionally, reading through mentions of CommAlert on Newspapers (e.g. "County wants access to Adelphia for weather warnings" from the July 7, 1995 issue of The Stuart News), it seems like it was capable of audio-only overrides but could also make the screens go dark as well, the latter of which does not line up with the aforementioned overrides.
The kid in this comment is my closest friend, I'm dead ass no lie, not even kidding He told me how filming this commercial was the most miserable thing of his childhood
All the great times that ive had at both these centers. Its hard to believe that they are closed now. I shot my first 300 at Metro Bowl and i shot my first 800 at Circle Bowl. The one thing that i miss the most about these 2 places, its all of the friends that i made in the 19yrs i was bowling. R.I.P Metro and Circle Bowl.
Nice to see ABC12 when it was owned by ABC... Flint really got the big market treatment here! I'm wondering if you have any other tapes from WJRT or any full newscasts?
