THIS METHOD DOES NOT WORK , PERIOD . May have worked for this person but overall it won't. Listen, with so many people having the same experience , this company had to have known about this problem and still allowed this trash to be sold anyway. Look up how many people have been affected by this problem!! Far too many for this to be a "RANDOM" problem!! But this is actually my fault for buying cheap trash , guess I got what I paid for.
Guys I had this same issue and my tv would not work even after following the video...BUT...this could've just been luck but my husband turned the volume all the way up with the remote, and he held the power button and volume up button in at the same time for about 10 seconds, and it worked. Ours was blinking a picture when it came on and then off but was just a black screen in between. It would blink a picture and then turn back off. We also reset the tv manually using a paperclip, we unplugged it, and we also pressed home button 5 times, up button once, rewind 2 times, fast forward 2 times and waited. That causes it to reboot. But maybe this will work for someone else like it did for us so I thought I'd share.
Yeah that worked for you...my 55” still won’t come on I’m about to take the motherboard out and see if I can reset it if not I’ll order the part from Amazon, if that doesn’t work on to another tv thankfully we have more than one big screen tv

Guys, I just fixed my tcl 55p605 that has this issue. Basically it's your t con board. Easy replacement. Take back cover off and look at your t con board numbers make sure they match or are close to your tv. Main numbers to match are for example 1 c 7 and numbers until you reach tthg ect. Buy your part on Ebay. Basically this damn board isn't giving the tv signal or whatever so you wont boot up. I got tired of turning off and on the tv even reset stopped working.
I tried everything on my 4 yr old 55 inch. When I press the reset button in the back after waiting minutes after unplugging, it tries to lit up, I see a dark TCL logo but it goes to dark right away. I gave up. I bought a Samsung 50 inch on sale for $377 instead of $650 for that garbage TCL back in 2016.
Sharing my story for anyone reading the comments. Had a TCL L40S4700FS which would boot for about 0.5-1 sec then turn itself off. I cannot understand how or why it worked, but remove the batteries from the remote & hold power for 15sec actually FIXED IT :)
Many thanks to this video.. Got it working after 2x after unplugging the cable box as well (if that has bearing). Saved me a trip to the service center and probably cost of repair since its out of warranty...
Also people do not use Windex to clean screen. And if you do spray cloth not the screen for water will interact with electric components in the tv. Water will slide thru

Yay, this fixed my problem! I've never used a fix from RU-vid before, but you have made a believer of me, thank you so much! I didin't know model, or where the power button on the TV is, but it really didn't matter, unplugging worked anyway.
LOL! I literally made this video for TCL support for the sole purpose of demonstrating my issue to tech support. I shared the link, and they sent a tech out to replace the mainboard under warranty 3 days later. I have no idea why this video has received as much attention to be honest...
I have a TCL tv, when I turn it on the screen turns red, green, blu and white. After a while you can hear the channels but screen keeps changing color. Can't do anything with the remote, just turn it on and off. Pls help!
Once you hit the power button the TV will boot to the main screen with a list of all options. Quickly hitting the power button will move you down the list. When you get to the option you want on the list, hold the power button and so on

I have the same issue...i have connected firestick few months back...it was working well until today ..now there is only sound coming when i scroll through apps using fire remote...the display is on but only shows black screen...there is no tcl logo too when i turn on tv..if u have found the solution...do share
It took about 7 tries but it worked finally.....its possible it may need a update if you can get the screen back on check for that! The update may not have anything to do with it!! My tv is supposed to auto update but it hadnt so I manually did it!! it's also possible one of the led strips may malfunctioning... not expensive, just might not be worth fixing or getting fixed!! I guess depends on how much you spent for the tv!! The parts for the tv arent too expensive.....
Dude my TCL tv just stopped working, just last night i was watching tv and turned it off, the light underneath was on and was still plugged in for me to turn on again, but i woke up this morning it was just dead, it was plugged in, the light underneath was not on while the tv was off and tried turning it on, i tried everything, i bought an LG today (Kept my old tcl in case id get it fixed again)
I have had the same issue done some research your going to need to replace your main board you can get them at shopjimmy.com for about 60$ easy to replace. A couple connectors and a couple screws
@@gabrielmoralesvelez tried all possible ways but its confirmed that motherboard is dead. with 20 days of warranty left i replaced the motherboard and its working fine now

Hi my TCL TV the light on the bottom of it is on but the hole TV is not turning on from some reason and also when i push the power button the light on the bottom of the tv will flash on and off but hole tv is still not turning on for some reason so i done like you said in the video i unplug the power cord than i plug it back in and it did not work so please tell me what should i do now?? 😭
ADELINE PARRISH - I made this video solely for showing TCL my issue, in order to receive warranty repair. They ended up sending out a technician to replace the main board inside of the TV. My fix with unplugging the TV is only a temporary fix; the TV would end up in the same locked up state after a day or so. You might want to look at the backside of your TV around the controls, and see if you can find a small hole with a button that can be pressed with a paperclip - this will factory reset the TV. Otherwise, your TV may need repair...
I will never ever buy a TLC TV it got a black screen the insurance wouldn't replace or fix this company should stop saving those TV's if they not going to tell people about the problems u face after spending 1800 and then couple of years later u end up with a black screen so 😡
The main board is probably out. Unless you can find a part on eBay, it's probably not worth replacing. This video I made was for the purpose of showing to TCL for warranty repair. They sent out a tech to replace the main board in my home.
