To anyone thinking "this can't happen to me", it happened to me! Driving on the motorway at 70MPH I suddenly saw my oil light come on. Luckily I immediately pulled over and switched off the engine before any damage ocurred. The pulley bolt had indeed come undone. I was lucky I noticed the light come on when I did.
If you strip the thread on the centrifugal oil filter, (mine came back like that from when I let a garage service it) just drill through and put a 10 mm nut and bolt on it instead.
Thanks , great video, want to use original bolt so going to have to go the route you did and use the old bolt . What grade locktite / nutlock did you use ?
I used a cheap generic high strength/permanent studlock from repco with high heat tolerance. In an ideal world I would have used the most suitable “loctite” number... I think 272 would be good from memory, but it is important to research the different types of any threadlocker for it’s intended application before buying
