I’m fitting an egr delete pipe on my beetle 1.9 pd tdi 100 along with a pf 130/150 inlet manifold. I spent 3hours cleaning it yesterday ready for installation soon. Chances are your inlet is as crapped up as the egr you replaced. The best was to get it off is use a blow torch. The crud turns to little black cornflakes then it’s easy to scrape out. Don’t bother with inlet cleaners etc from the shops, they do fck all. Your car sounds awesome at the tail pipe 👌🏼
Oh bro it most definitely was but I cleaned it out a month later I believe bc I started to go into limp mode badly haha but it kept driving haha and I’ve never thought about that but thanks for the wonderful idea !
@@DipaloLad I know the ALH has the same “square” inlet as the ATD (pd). Apparently because of the crappy design the outside 2 cylinders are prone to air starvation once they start getting crapped up. I looked for a 150, they’re like £60 upwards. The 130 is the very same yet people price them a lot lower (they probably don’t realise they’re exact same 😂👍🏼) I want to straight pipe mine too but over here 🇬🇧 the laws are tight on smoke production 😞 I paid £25 for the one I bought plus delivery £4 👍🏼😂
Hello my friend, I have an error code P0401 for the egr, it says on dashboard emissions workshop with no check engine light and no performance issue. Only difference is the sound from the exhaust. I'm experiencing the same sound as you are in the video after the egr delete, the whistling noise i'm talking about. I've only heard that sound when the car has been idle for more than 1 minute and then it stops when I drive it, but now it's constantly whistling. Thanks in advance!
If your main concern is about the whistling noise, I’d check your exhaust pipe that comes off your turbo to your exhaust cat because there might be a hole there bc my pipe in between there was slowly breaking apart because of the hot fumes rolling through right out of the turbo
Get rid of the exhaust cat and muffler so basically straight pipe it haha and this car I haven’t done that yet but I had holes in my exhaust from years of hot fumes going through it and just slowly burnt away the metal and made holes infromt of the exhaust cat
Faster as in acceleration? Still felt the same. to me tho, it helps the manifold stop getting clogged and coal was easier to dump out without it being recycled
@DipaloLad is ts necessarily to turn off egr from sowtfare , after im removing it with sport kite ? Cz I'm already removing it with sport pipe but I'm not touching the sowtfware egr settings. Thanks
@@DipaloLad mm, cuz i have 1.9 tdi AGR engine, and its audi a3 8L 1996, i had it straight piped + K&N filter but only i can hear the turbine spin, and somehow i want to improve the sound to sound good etc but idk how much more then the straight piping and a sport filter. it has chip like from 90hp to 120hp + egr delete like on the egr i have that thingy you have from the start of the video but its unplugged nothing is plug to it and they say doesnt have egr but idk kek
Damn you’ve done all the mods so far I want/need todo for mine! Another idea you could do is a side exit exhaust halfway through your straight pipe, maybe that will increase the sound of your turbo spooling
İf you just block the vacuum hose, all that hot exhaust gas trapped in the egr pipe will melt that thin pipe. You must put a blanking metal gasket to the egr inlet pipe.
@@DipaloLad back in the day, VW cheated on emissions testing on their diesel engines. They had to pay huge fines in the US to the EPA as well as buy back numerous cars both in Canada and the US. Essentially they were trying to save money by not installing a BlueTEC system which wasn't ready for Prime time anyway. Mercedes Benz was bitten in the arse with the BlueTEC scandal a few years later because they fudged results and the cost of maintenance to the system was astronomical for the purchaser.
