It seems irrelevant but one of the things I like about your videos is that you include the ambient sounds of the places that you visit- you're not overdubbing or filling the audio track with just you speaking. It's nice to not only see the field where you used to play but also to hear the insects and the birds in the area while I'm looking at it. It reall adds to the "being there" aspect of it.

When you tell about your dad finding you hiding, I had to laugh. I did the same thing, but we had skipped school one morning and gone to play pin ball machines at the Bowling Alley. To my knowledge my dad NEVER EVER went in that Bowling alley, but right when I was smacking the ball, my friend says, "Hey is that your dad?" OMG it was him!! LOL I never knew HOW he found me ,but the remainder of that day was very bad, for me! :) (Greenwood Mississippi 1972)

Your closing statements at 12:12 are absolutely true. We take so much for granted these days and nothing moves faster than time. What a great idea to go back and not only film locations that were dear to you growing up, but also to retell the stories that made them special. I recently learned of the closing of 2 of my favorite childhood attractions (a miniature golf course/sports park in Indiana and a huge petting zoo in Michigan). I thought they'd be there forever. The last time I was at either place was before the "digital" age so all I can expect to find are a few 4x6 Kodak prints and maybe a scratchy VHS. Such a good reminder to try to capture/preserve locations before they're gone or no longer recognizable. Thanks for sharing your memories with us!

Every time I think you have posted my favorite vlog, another one comes along. What a great message in today's vlog. These mean so much to me because, as an American now living in Germany, I get to see familiar things, and things I have read about, or things I have never even thought about. I am confined to my apartment, I can no long get outside and explore like I once did. Now, you do it for me. Thank you, Adam. These vlogs truly touch my soul.

Thank you for this vlog, my favorite thus far. Last year I had the pleasure of checking out my 80's childhood home that my dad built in Winter Springs, FL when it went up for sale. It was so surreal to walk around after 16 years and see how things have changed and yet how much is still the same. So many memories came flooding back and as I was leaving I got a little teary eyed. If I had the money I would have bought it, but I can't afford two mortgages! Hehe. The city has grown quite a bit since I have lived there. I can remember how things used to look like it was yesterday and where my brother and I built forts, played in the street, and played Nintendo with the neighborhood kids. You truly are a kind and intriguing person and I wish you a safe journey. I can't wait for you to arrive to the Orlando area to see what you find. Maybe I will see you around! Say hi to the Tim and Jenn Tracker! Gotta go play some Nintendo now!

Every time we go through Eufaula I think about that huge rock under the lake. $89.00 for a VHS was not much back then. People forget that a Laserdisc in 1991 retailed for $11,099.00 or more and the late eightys about the same maybe a little more. I collect LaserDiscs and I have a brand new player from sears in box that retailed for $11,099.00 in 1991. Great video. My uncle owned a Video Store. I remember people renting VHS players. We rented out the delorean and ferrari VHS rewinders as a special when you rented vhs players. Man your childhood must have beem great. I remember riding my Silver Streak BMX all over the place with my baseball glove and bat in my back pack and my skateboard strapped to my bmx. I even sometimes carried my micromachines with me.

I just gotta say you drop us a lot. 😜 Honestly I love that you have really amazing stories of your past. A lot of people have pretty vague recall. You could vlog like this for an hour and it wouldn't get old, IMHO. 💖👍💖 My childhood bestie and I just yesterday discussed how it drove us nuts being stuck in a hick town every summer with not much to do, but now as an adult I'm blown away at the things we did and how great we had it. And you're 100% right we only go-round one time so we should make the most of every day if possible. It's an amazing world and so many are right outside your house. Really cool hearing about your history and some of those places that I see almost every day. Fellow Niceville resident here! Went to RBCS too! Yes, I remember how the signs in the front window of the bus would have random cities on there lol! Those charter buses were nice but they broke down a lot unfortunately. And yep, the Niceville cinema closed down in the last year- was good for a cheap movie to see without having to drive to the barrier island. Also remember when that Sushi place was a Mcdonalds- it changed sometime in the early 2000s. Love your vlogs: makes me want to travel more and go see cool places.
