Hello! I'm the guy, who built this X-Wing in his company located in Germany - together with eigth more Fighters. It was hard work with a satisfying result. I'm proud to see, that some of them are still alive - and are visited - despite some mosquitos. Thanks for the film...
Yes, me too, I also built it along side Bernd. He probably won’t remember me because I was just the guy who stared the pots for the various glues and paints. What a victory for the rebellion!
Great job, even from the fence it looks awesome! If you could build these to order there would absolutely be a market for them, depending on copyrights etc…
Thank you for teaching your fans/viewers that Trespassing is wrong. You set a good example Adam. God bless you! You are only a handful of vloggers who does not curse, you are a rare bread.
It's one (of seven) of the 3/4 scale Promotional models created by Panasensor (Fox Studios Berlin) for the Special Editions theatrical release. We have one at the Wings Over The Rockies Air Museum in Denver. I'm on the restoration team. :)
I believe this is one of the 3, 3/4 scale Xwings made for promotion in the 90s. One is at the Denver Wings over the Rockies museum and has been restored by local fans.
www.aymnetwork.com/full-scale-lifesize-x-wing-sale-e-bay I cant find the article I remeber reading that detailed where the 3 known ones are, but this could have been the one bought on ebay years ago.
Come up to Kent, Ohio and go to a restaurant called Mike's Place. The owner built an X-Wing fighter and it's sitting outside the restaurant. I'm sure you'd love it, not to mention they have really good food.
I'm sure it's already been mentioned but please check yourself for ticks, I'm in MD. My daughter was 4 when she had Lyme disease. Thankfully we got her antibiotics in time. Safe travels, loved the vlog!
The Woo.....tramping through the (Bug infested!) woods & I'm thinking...another natural bridge?.... naw.....a local lookout?.....naw...a really cool waterfall? Maybe.....But of course, who else but the Woo goes walking in the woods & comes up with an life size Xwing fighter from Star Wars!!! Adam, I don't know where you headed mate, but by golly I am gonna follow you every step of the way!
After clicking a title that literally says he found an x-wing, you were really wondering what he was going to show us? And your first guesses were a natural bridge, local lookout and waterfall? Can't pull anything over on you.
Adam, my family and I got to see Large Marge in Pigeon Forge a little while ago. Got some family photos infront of your Majestic. It was raining like crazy, wish we could have met you! We watch you on RU-vid nearly every night. Keep up the amazing work you do!
That is NOT from any Star Wars movie!! The original one that Mark Hamill sat in was a wooden prop built by boat makers. It was dismantled after filming wrapped as they didn't plan to have another Star Wars movie because no one knew at that time that it would be so popular. There is documentation and pictures on the modeling forums that confirms this. All the sets were destroyed and then thrown onto the Shepperton Studios backlot. There are even pictures of Harrison Ford posing in what used to be part of the Millennium Falcon set. What you have filmed is a FAN MADE X - Wing that was on display in one of the shopping malls on the Star Tours attraction. How much this sold for is anyones' guess. Thanks for posting this any way.
I live near that big roller skate, but the roller rink there closed down, i think its a truck stop now or something. Its kinda cool that I recognize everything. I pass that barn alot
I lived in a town where the County fire department painted their trucks white (mostly; they had a thin yellow stripe down the side too). They still exist, although red is more common.
Adam, remember the Original Battlestar Galctica? when I was on summer vacation up the coast,my family and I saw "coming soon battlestar galactica" and we got to see one of the Viper ships up close..that reminded me of this X wing :)
Because this X-Wing is well known to everyone in northern virginia (and perhaps beyond) so they receive countless 'tourists' and trespassers (as you can see from the extended fencing) and have made it known from signs out front and other things that they don't want visitors knocking on their door.
Drove by the Giant Single Rollerskate going south to Myrtle Beach. Cracked me up that this was one of the last videos I saw before I left. Nice. Great Video.
You should invest in a drone and then go back there and do a fly over of the X-Wing and see what you can see from a higher elevation. It would be cool to see an overhead view of it.
Good early morning Adam, that was quite a trek. I'm up early too - hubby and I are leaving today for our first trip to Disneyland, super excited. Been to WDW many times but never the original. Have a good day.
Welcome Adam from Rockville, MD. Your not that far from here now. Ive lived here a long time and been out that way plenty of times and never knew that X wing was there. Pretty freaking cool!
They say that it’s a replica. The guy who owns it was actually a former X-Wing Pilot for the Rebellion, but in an attempt to retreat from a battle, he set random coordinates for a hyperspace jump & ended up in our solar system, landing on Earth and living as a normal citizen ever since.
Maybe one day the owner will sell it to a Star Wars collector, who in turn, will let other Star Wars Fans enjoy it. What a shame it's hidden up there in the woods.
Bama MoonDog.....I'm guessing the guys significant other said he could keep it...but it's not coming in the house....I'm also guessing he doesn't want everyone and their cousin tromping through his property and possibly damaging the x-wing
You always find amazing gems away from the normal paths of travel!! That find was so cool! You are awesome!! Enjoy your Saturday!! See you tomorrow. God bless you!!
adam, not all firetrucks are painted red even today, some are red, some are lime green, some are yellow, some are orange, it just depends on the city as to how the trucks are painted ! take it from a firefighter !
Sorry to bust everyone bubbles, but that particular X-Wing is not an original prop from the Star Wars movie. What Adam did find was one of nine replica X-Wings that were made by the company, Pana Sensor, in 1995 in promoting the Star Wars trilogy to home video.
hard to tell, there ARE a couple full size xwings out there, the '95 ones were only 3/4 scale and had glaring proportion errors. this doesnt look like those
@TheDailyWoo I used to live in this neighborhood! this was a cool video to chance upon. i've been up there a few times, it really is breathtaking. By the way when you passed by that pond that was private property as was the land leading up to the X-wing. i've been chased off before :P As for the owner of the X-wing the dude owns a company that sells the internet to service providers, take that as you will haha. Anyways, i'm glad you got to see it. good for you!
Fantastic, as always! Loved seeing the 1:1 X-wing! I am surprised, however, with you being such a history buff, and pass up epic Civil War battlefields? Especially Manassas?
Jim Felton A little trivia: there is a town called Felton in CA with a Big Foot museum. Thought of this when I saw your name and Woo's car air freshener.
OMG!!!! THATS FRIEKEN AMAZING .. THANK YOU ADAM, I NEVER KNEW THAT EXISTED.. THANKS FOR BRINGING THAT TO YOUR VLOG, AND SHARING THAT.. THAT PROPERTY OWNER MUST BE THE LUCKIEST PERSON ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH!! lol.. Awesome!
Ursus americanus (black bear) is the only species of bear in this area of the country and unless you walk up on a den (which is super unlikely due to the residential proximity) you would never know they were ever in the woods with you. Source: myself, 23 years living in heavily wooded Pennsylvania forestland. :)
Times changed mighty quickly. When I was a kid in the 90s my parents and I always stopped and ate at those rest stop picnic tables! I guess that was about 20 years ago :/
There is a full size or 3/4 size X Wing at the Denver Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Its pretty bad ass. It has a full size R2D2 in the back.
Most likely not an original movie setpiece. The Star Wars films (except 2 of the prequels) were all shot in the U.K. Back then, set pieces would be demolished after use, and it would've been pretty unusual to ship something like that overseas.
I'm only 10 miles from there. You can actually see it using Google Earth and the historical imagery feature, just go back a few clicks to 4/2015 and 4/2016.
Exceptional! Virginia is not disappointing at all! I absolutely love every vlog you have done from there! Keep up those great adventures!!! And Thank You!!!!
Wow Adam you confirmed it! A stroll through the woods is well rewarded with the sight of a an X-wing! It does exist. Also...That's a Fire engine convertible! Pretty cool lookin!
In one year in the 80s they made white fire trucks because when the red trucks rusted it was very expensive to repaint it but white paint was not very expensive to repaint I hope that answered your question!
Master Yoda would of been proud of you Adam for tracking through those woods. If you would of used ur Jedi skills, you could of lifted that x wing fighter over the fence! Hehehe Great Video Adam.I would of jumped the fence
red is a traditional color for fire trucks, but yellow is also a popular color, in fact it is recommended for trucks that go on the highway and runways which is why the trucks at most airports are yellow. there is also a variation on yellow that has a greenish tinge which is referred to as slime lime. white is probably the third most popular color for fire trucks followed by green or blue which are fairly rare. a company near me has a burgundy color that they have mixed up for them only. the only way other fire trucks have this specific color is if they purchase one of this company's trucks used. in fact I believe they used to request you repaint them after purchase but I'm not 100% on that.
I live 5 minutes from that rest stop. It was closed down for awhile because of bad activity going on there and they did a small remodeling. I no where that x-wing is.Its behind my sister in-laws house about a 15 minute hike. So cool you where right there. Wish I new.
That fence wasnt tall, i would have jumped it and spent a few minutes looking at that X-Wing up close. If i go there, i will tell you all about the interior cockpit and front view. Sometimes you just have to take the chance, Woo.
Good on you for respecting private property. As much as it would have been cool to see the entire ship it would not be right to do so. As someone else pointed out you have set a good example on how you handled this. I know it had to be tough to have restraint. I mean it was a full size freaken Xwing dude. That had to be tough not to hop the fence. Lol. Bravo.
They should open it to the public and charge a small fee to help maintain the craft. What an amazing find.i myself have only steed foot on a scale replica
I wish someone with a lot of miney or a museum or both would buy it!! It would be really cool of a Military Museum bought it that way it can be loved by the public and hundreads of thousands of star wars fans!! I mean it could definitely increase a museum’s revenue ...
I just saw your video. What really surprised me was I went to Oakton High School, that's my old stomping ground. Who would have known it was parked there.
I'm from UK and it's a bit shocking how where you are exploring looks exactly like where I live. The only difference is you drive on the wrong side lol.😀
if you had been practicing your Jedi skills...you could had levitated that x-wing and flew off in it...but.....nooooo!!!!! got to start believing in your abilities again young Jedi.........! have an awesome weekend Adam!
