Te Huia Gets a Push, For Real This Time

In recent weeks, Te Huia's SRV driving carriages have been leading trains 100, 102 and 104 in revenue service, over a year after the first trials and training runs. We catch the first two of these trains between Pōkeno and Drury in the first weeks of operations in the push mode. In Drury, the train also passes under electrification infrastructure being installed.

Capital connection train still have the controls in the cab I've seen then in another video then another video state its only a viewing car would be better if srv could operate like te huia.

@@meeparawenata6107 Wrong. All of the controls in the SRG on the cap con have been ripped out during it's refurb. It cannot lead at all

I may have got it wrong but the clip I've seen shows all controls and cab seat kiwi railfanning@smallrails video clip

Te Huia could get another SRV lead carriage at the back replacing the loco so that way the train would look a lot better and it'll look like the Auckland EMUs.

This would mean no power for the consist! The SRV is a driving cab only, it doesn't provide any traction :)

The ride quality is better in both push and pull operation. It better thab has 80 ton locomotive at the back.
