I watch Furls lives all the time and they consistently speak about how important quality control is to them. They encourage customers to reach out if you receive a hook with any flaws. Please consider contacting them to replace your hook. 🤗

I tried to love furls…and considered trying this one too. I have bought every style (wood, resin, and odyssey). I just don’t love them. Thank goodness there are several types and styles of hooks for us to choose from to find our own perfect hook. I think I’ll pass on this one. Thank you for the honest review.

Hi Jennifer, I would for sure send that hook back for a replacement if it has a flaw. It's not supposed to have a flaw or snag❗ As far as I know, the hooks are guaranteed. Thank you for the review.

I’ve been looking at tons of ergonomic hooks as I have fibromyalgia. So I need to find a hook that I can use regularly. And have it lessen the pain in my hands since I love to crochet. So I know I can always count on you for a honest review.

Smart idea as far as the hard case for your resin hooks. I just purchased a furls resin hook. After spending a nice penny, I figured a hard case would be better than a leather case. Your video confirms it works! Great minds think alike😊! Hope to grow my collection of furls hooks. I really want an aluminum streamline. They are all sold out. I'm hoping they come back in stock soon.

I'm not a Furls fan but I can see why you think it is a sexy hook. My hand slides up the hook on furls. I do have to say they produce some of the prettiest hooks on the market. My personal opinion on your new metal streamline hook is I would have them replace it. The flaw looks like it was a bubble which means it has a weak spot and if dropped it could break the tip off. Of course it's just my opinion. I watched you work with it and you were correct in saying that it really didn't interfere with the crochet. Thanks you once again on your review. Oh Holly from the proper pineapple is going to be at Michigan Fine Yarn on June 3. I plan to go that day too. I can't wait to check out the shop. I have bought some of her hand dyed yarn and it is beautiful. Wish you could be there too. Maybe yours sister can make it.

I love furls. I have not had any learning curve with the oddesy but with the streamline i have . I have very small hands though. If you have a flaw on the hook you should let them know. Their customer service is the best around . I'm sure you can have it replaced

I really don't care for Furls, but I got one of the metal ones and I love it! I like metal hooks the best so with this being an ergonomic hook, I fell in love with it. They are sold out now, but I emailed them and they will be restocking before July. The metal Furls is aluminum and the tips of the Odyssey are nickel plated pewter. That may explain the difference in the performance. 😊Thank you Jennifer! ❤️

I got the new Furls metal hook. Tried it on acrylic yarn. Works like a dream. I've got an Odyssey and not a fan. I love Clover & Tulip also. I let the fiber tell me what kind of hook to use. 😃

Thanks so much for the review. Next time I will wait and watch your review of the next new hook out from any maker. I bought the hook the day it came out and it arrived yesterday. You are quite correct, it is heavy. I bought some of their wooden hooks on Mary Maxim (cheaper than their website and are often on sale) and I am not in love with the hooks. They are nice but I am not raving over the hooks.

Hello Jennifer I have alot of the furl hooks, honestly I don't use them because I'm scared of them breaking. Which a few have and yes they replaced them. I am thinking about getting the hook just to try it. Thanks for the review I really appreciate you and all you do. Blessings

Good Morning! I got the new metal Streamline too! I really like it, it does not like splitty cotton yarn! I do so love the sleekness and heaviness, but I'm a clover girl all the way!

My daughter has been singing your theme in the backseat while I drive pretty regularly. Happy you brought it back, but no worries when you don’t have time to do it. As a mama can relate to the busy, you rock Jen, and do what works for your time.

If you like tea with lemon try Stash Lemon Ginger tea. The ginger will help your stomach and u get the lemon. I have the same problem as you with citrus 🍋🍊

I don't know why but the streamline heads remind me of helmets that knights used to wear for some silly reason. Being the person that I am I so want to try the hook! They are all sold out except for the size 7 hook. Good grief! I don't use 7 ever unfortunately. You ever want to give hooks away send them my way. I'm a hookaholic.

OMG, I just balanced my Clover Amour 5.0 mm hook on my point finger. It is perfectly balance at the halfway point. I don't have to grip the Amour hooks much at all, I'm a knife grip. Maybe that is part of why I can crochet all day with Amour and no other hook. I've not tried Furls as I doubt very much they'd work for my hand size.

That tea sounds SO TASTY!! the Stash website says my Whole Foods has the Meyer lemon tea so I will have to check them out. I liked how that new hook looks and I am glad it works so well (mostly) with the different yarns. I have a Resin Pride hook that got warped in last summer's heat, and two wooden hooks which I actually DO like, now that I know which yarns to use with them (no 100% cotton). Thanks for the review of the tea and the hook!

The new metal Streamline should be fine, it's not a coating according to Furls. It's straight, through and through, solid aluminum. Whereas the Odyssey's are jewelry quality pewter metal with a nickel coating. So, if you've a nickel skin allergy like myself, don't recommend to use these without gloves or other protection and skin treatments to prevent reaction issues. Pewter will bend when dropped and burr most different metal coatings after a time, solid aluminum will not do any of these things. While I love and prefer the Odyssey's as well, I'd say the metal Streamlines are more longevity for cheaper. And I don't have to wear gloves and apply aggressive skin treatments after to use em so I'm hoping to snag a whole line of the metal Streamlines soon. I'm in love with this new hook. Weight was different at first but i adjusted . Now no issue. They are not as slick as the odyssey hook . Think it falls between odessy and the acrylic needls . Love them.

I want to thank you, Jennifer, for your honesty regarding Furls hooks. I get so tired of hearing from everywhere how perfect Furls hooks are when I haven't found that to be true. I think the Odyssey hooks are beautiful but have found them to be too heavy to be comfortable to use for long and they are too rounded at the top for me.

I just ordered a 10mm furls streamline metal because I need. 10mm so I thought I’d give it a shot. I never used a furls before. I know they don’t sell the Odessey anymore and a lot of people love it. I am hooked on clover amour hooks, so this is a totally different thing for me, but I wanted to give it a try I just started crocheting this month so I’m a beginner - but I caught on and fell in love fast. I’m a crocheter for life now ❤ (Actually my grandma taught me when I was 10 and I used to crochet here and there when I was young, but I’m 42 and just getting back into it )

I bought 3 of those pencil cases after your review a few weeks ago. I love them! I keep all my specialty hooks in them. I can store 3-4 hooks in one case without worry about them being damaged.

I like that sharp piece you are talking about in cases where you have a tight stitch and need to use a different technique to maneuver into it. I have 50 plus years of experience crocheting.What I'm looking for now is speed, when making blankets I get on a roll and with the right hook I can do that. Have you tried Clover yet and or how does the Furls compare to that??? Thanks for opinion, I prefer complete honesty.

I received my stainless steel furls a few days ago. I immediately tried it and it was wonderful. I’ve read comments that it was heavier than the other streamline hooks, if that’s true it wasn’t noticeable to me. No flaws. The yarn just glides across the hook. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I had furls at one time, but ended up loving Susan Bates more. But Furls do make beautiful looking hooks.

Stash Meyer Lemon IS THE BEST LEMON TEA!!! so glad you liked it. i love it hot with honey too. it is very citrusy- but doesnt have that strange artificial lemony taste some teas have-- and i have tried them all!!! i just saw lemon mint and apple mint herb plants yesterday and my plan is to make some minty lemon iced tea for this summer!!! i dont own furls but this stainless hook might be my first- i like the sharper tip. but they do look like a sleek Cadillac or something-- vroom vroom---- thanks

Hey Jennifer, Riccola, (aka Crystal), just posted a video that she just purchased the Nickel Metal Furls hook. I’m still thinking about it, love the Odyssey’s only because I only work with metal. This is one gorgeous hook!

So glad you did this review. I use the streamline wood hooks but noticed on the website this was a tich heavier than the odyssey and it takes me awhile to get used to the weight when I use my odyssey hook.

Oh my son bought me Blueberry bliss tea for my birthday yesterday. I have a vocal cord disorder and it is very soothing. I've heard about Furls and one day would like to try them. I have arthritis in my fingers and have heard these might help.

Thank you for sharing your opinion of the new Furls hook. It is a pretty hook. I hold my hook pencil style so they aren’t as comfortable as some other hooks I have. I do have one Odyssey hook and I use it occasionally. It’s just a little heavy for me. 💜🙏🏻

Thanks for reviewing the new Furls hook. I recently purchased their resin H-hook and so far its working for me. I was very glad it worked for me. I liked the feel of hook in my hand so much that ordered two 'seconds' in different sizes based on your other video about furls seconds! I think the new one and odyssey might be too heavy

Thank you so much for the review! I love my Furls hooks, but they absolutely only work well with certain yarn and stitches. I really love my wood streamline in ebony because it is much smoother than my other two wood Furls. I’m iffy on getting the metal one due to the weight since my favorite thing about the wood and resin is how light they are.

Got my streamline metal hook, it’s my first furls. I’m excited to try it. Maybe with the baby blanket out of my forever fleece finer I got on clearance thanks to you!

I discovered I missed my tea video and thought how did I do that. Then realized I had a Dr. appointment on our tea morning. Watching at 12:40 am to catch up. Maybe it's because they can't get good help anymore either.

Jen did you notice it has a thinner neck than the others which would feel foreign in your hand for a while

Terrific review! The way you evaluate hooks is how I'd approach it. So this means I don't have to buy this one because you worked with it and I see I wouldn't like it. I like my Odyssey but after a while, my hand slides down and I choke up on the tip and then I feel the weight. My Hiya Hiya hooks are my favorite tho sadly they don't have ergonomic handles. Thank you so much!

May try a wood needle knitting secret get a piece of old fashioned wax paper use it to polish your hook over the rough spots or little snags. Will make the needle more slick. And fill in little tiny divits or snags. Some use old candle but i find the wax paper better also protects your needles.

I would contact Furls and request an exchange it may just be a whoops and not common and see if the replacement has any issues (that's what I would do, I know not everyone would).

I have learned that I really like inline hooks no matter who is the maker. I like Susan Bates hooks too. I have some with wooden handles . I would like to know if the bur is causing the snagging? Thank for the review.

I agree that this hook is sexy. I just bought a mis-sized Aries Furls hook because I want to try one, but I did not want to waste $24 a hook if I didn't like it. It's interesting that it didn't work like an Odyssey. Thanks for sharing your opinions about this good looking hook.💜

My streamline wood hooks do not have any flaws. They are amazing.

I just got my very first odyssey today and I like it so much better than the streamline they have. The streamline is too grab-y. Ya know? If y’all have one you know.

Is that Forever Fleece Finer similar to Lion Brand Feels Like Buttah? It looks the same (maybe thicker). I'm so glad you did this hook review. I was planning to get one (if they come out with maybe a bronze?), but now I'm thinking the weight might be an issue. And I really can't understand how Furls makes so much money for these hooks but they don't seem to have quality control to assure we don't get flawed hooks. Super annoying. It's definitely pretty though!

On hot days, finish your shower with a cool rinse, esp your head, it helps to cool you down...♥️😘🦋love my Clover Amor in the larger sizes, not metal, and RA hands need lighter weight..their QC needs to step up...

I can say with almost complete certainty this won't be for me. I very much disliked the streamline wood and I think I'll have the same issues here. I have still yet to try an odyssey though, one day I'll talk myself into it!

I think I will stay with my Boye, Tulip and Omni hooks... and save my money for....YARN!
