In this video, we explore the taste difference between tea brewed in a gaiwan and tea brewed in a yixing clay teapot. The results are pretty surprising, so check it out. We brewed top grade Lapsang Souchong, a tea that has changed a lot of peoples’ opinions about Lapsang. Read more about this tea here:

Great video addressing a question I have long wondered about! Since you asked for other questions ;): Should I worry about that "thicker" more textured mouth feel when using yixing? Does that mean I am drinking clay particles with my tea? Also, how can one get a clay teapot and be sure it doesn't have unhealthy environmental contaminants in the clay? Thanks!

Hi and thanks for watching and great questions. While clay teapots are porous, I don't think the thicker mouthfeel is coming from clay sediment in the teapot. As for the quality of the clay, that is something to watch for. Like anything, you want to use a trusted source when buying a teapot.
