We thank The Hon. Harold Dutton for standing his ground on this issue and holding the failure of HISD responsible for the disaster they've created. Hopefully, those who previously served on the school board will never be allowed to get near a school board function again in life😊

So happy I was able to move my kids to Cy-Fair ISD. If you can’t afford to live in a good area your kids are screwed.

The way these people act is how their kids act therefore they will not respect their teachers. Changes of managers happen in businesses when they fail to show revenue. HISD has been failing for decades and it was only a matter of time for the state to enforce changes. We moved out of HISD and we are happy to see our kids love school and keep their grades high without any stress. I see people here stuck in the past using racism and politics on this matter when it’s the same elected democrat Hispanics and blacks running the show in whole HISD and have failed for decades. They are crying for their jobs they don’t care about the students.

You think TEA cares about the students of HISD and Morath nor Abbott has the decency to personally address the questions of the parents that are showing up to these meetings wondering what does this really mean for their children? Abbott met with parents about funding for private schools, so why can't he meet with parents about the TEA takeover? If this is really about the students, then explain to those parents personally your plans. This takeover is questionable and untrustworthy, and in the end, its agenda will be revealed at the expense of our students of HISD. You think you know but you have no idea. Katy ISD is probably worse than HISD, but Abbott is not having TEA to takeover Katy. Why?

Where’s Mike Morath? Where’s Governor Abbott? They need to show for the last meeting and they need to be held accountable.

It seems you’re talking out of your anus. There’s definitely a lot of problems, but the former superintendent according to TEA commissioner himself said the previous superintendent, at that time the current superintendent, was doing a really good job and actually making a lot of good improvements. But he said he was going to fire him anyway because he wanted a “fresh star”. Now they come in and they close down libraries in poor schools but not good schools. Oh, but no racism. I think racism is overblown. But it sounds like people like you are just the opposite side of the exact same coin as the foolish people who think racism is everywhere, you’re the foolish people who think just because you don’t experience it that it’s not in places. And as I understand it does take over was triggered because one single school out of 270 schools has been failing for five years. Only one school. But guess what, that one school is not failing anymore because it took a few years for the takeover to happen because of lawsuits. So now that there is a takeover the triggering school is actually passing. And the entire district has a B+. Governor Abbott wants to take over the school maybe to get public education because he wants vouchers and private school. Or maybe he thinks he can make a big difference and he knows if he fails it won’t matter because Houston wasn’t gonna vote for him anyway, and if he succeeds then he could take all the credit, even if the school would’ve succeeded itself based on its current trend before they take over. But nobody with knowledge and a brain can deny Governor Abbott is mainly doing this because he wants to be president.

P.S. you should watch the hours of town meetings I have. The new TEA superintend it and system is doing so bad that they literally didn’t respond to programs that were giving money to the school system completely for free through grants. And the people were calling the new superintendents office to talk about renewing the grants which means giving money to the school system with no strings attached. And they couldn’t even get a call back so the grants expired. Sure sounds like a winner to me, huh?b

We didn't want to discuss the Board of Managers. Morath is going to appoint who he want? We need transparency and what about the Teachers, janitors, Counselors, etc.

The TEA takeover means a better future for our children. A better education! A better HISD.
