I am on the same journey, Jann! I’ve been doing a fabulous job sipping my stash. I did order The Silk Tea Co’s oolong collection because her teas a so high quality and not to be missed. No regrets! I’m also pushing myself to enjoy the teas that I feel are so special and save worthy. We are worth it, Jann 💜 Enjoying them reminds me that I can find joy and delight in savoring a cup of tea. I love that you save tins and tags. I feel seen! Thanks for sharing all of this! I knew you had worked on this and I’m delighted it’s working for you and excited you shared it with us. So glad you’re feeling well enough to film. You are a bright spot in our days! Hugs to all of you 🥰
Oh Shelly! This makes me so happy!! Thank you so much! I 💯 agree with The Silk Tea Co purchase, you will not be disappointed! So good! I love that you collect the tags too, I love and appreciate loose leaf tea, but I want that memento that you can get with the tea bag tag (in a small format) 😂 I’m so happy to be sharing and chatting with you again. Thank you 🥰👏
so perfectly organised! I love that you did it going by what you love, it makes perfect sense. I just bought some new shelves for my teas that I can wait to set up
I love that you organized via tea mood 😍 i reorganize my tea every couple of months because I get lazy with putting things back. I actually just did it yesterday and made a bundle of teas to give away to friends and place as freebies in orders 😍
Ooooh! Yes! My tea drawer gets a bit messy but the cupboards stay very well organized. I’m so happy I’ve found something that works 💞 and I love that you’re doing the sharing and gifting too. It’s so wonderful - just like you Nazanin 🥰
Great organization Jann. I was sipping down as well, then I started purchasing again. I have a cute white cabinet where I store my teas. However I also have a cute clear pink bin filled with teas. I share with everyone possible but my inventory never seems to decrease. It is a problem that I love to have.
Haha yes! It’s really such a good problem that we all have as tea lovers. There’s also something wonderful to try and share. Your organization system sounds great! 👏🥰
I WISH I could organize my teas in drawers but sadly I live at my grandmother's with my parents :( so I have them all over my bookshelves with my books lol. I go through certain teas fairly quickly (I mainly have Harney & Sons teas for the most part) so sharing would be a issued with my herbals and black teas but could def share my green and oolong. It's so nice seeing you back btw your the only tea content creator I know that makes good quality videos about tea and teas things (and an sometimes in a way mental health which I admire so much).
Ooooh books and tea are meant to be together, I think you have a good thing there :) and you are so incredibly kind, I so appreciate that you enjoy my creations and what I can share. It’s so nice to be back, thank you so much for the warmth. 🥰🥰🥰
I love your system, looks great! I have a 9-storage cube shelf with foldable storage cube bins I store my teas in. I also have a small cabinet that holds my extra teas and cans.
Love seeing everyone's storage systems, it's so interesting to me! I love how you wrote cute little punny messages on the bins, that would make me smile every time. And your island drawer is amazing! As far as it not being "very tidy", I think all of us tea folks have some bits and pieces of tea leaves on "display" somewhere in our homes LOL. I certainly do on my tea nook countertop!
Oh and forgot to mention, I want to try The Tea Girl, but I found out when I tried to buy her advent last year that she doesn't ship outside of Canada! I might have to have a Canadian tea friend ship it to me this year, heh heh... You know, for science!
Haha oooooh yes! Let the tea puns steep oolong! 😂👏😆 agree, I’m sure most of us have tea everywhere. I’m always finding little bits. The other day I had a whole oolong leaf open up and play inside the dishwasher (don’t tell Jeanette) 😂 thanks so much for joining me 🥰
Oooooh a vintage cabinet would have been perfect! I have one for my teacups, but finding something for the tea just didn’t happen. I can’t wait to see what you do. Thanks so much 💞
So organized! I'd love to do this one day when I have the space. For now I have a three drawer bin organized by tea to review, tea that has been reviewed, and tea for my personal stash. And then a pumidor for my sheng puerh. Plus some plastic shoe boxes for shou puerh and other heicha. 🤣
haha I love this so much Nicole! the add on containers ;) so cute. I love that the Billy bookcases are so narrow, so we could place them in an area that doesn't take up too much space. :) I can't wait to see your space someday :)
I love this video so much! I've never thought about keeping my favorite tea tags, but I think it would be fun to do that and attach them to my gift knitting for friends and family.
This is fabulous! I have a cupboard and I can’t go beyond that one cupboard. The teas I tend to not want to drink up are the ones from far away especially Bird and Blend. It’s silly…what am I waiting for?!
I gave away almost all of my flavored teas to my brother who took them to his middle school and put them in the teacher’s lounge where they were snapped right up and his colleagues loved them. Now I mostly have just direct trade oolongs from Taiwan, because that’s what I love. I do have some matcha, and my matcha purveyor recommends that it live in the refrigerator to slow degradation. Most everything else is in a set of wooden apothecary drawers my dad made many years ago.
I'm getting so many good ideas from this video. I currently have everything in boxes by type (black, green, oolong, et cetera) but that means I'm constantly having to go get all the boxes out to find what I need since they are in an overhead cabinet 😅
I think I'm going to try rearranging my black teas (my biggest section) with teas by mood (like earl grey by itself, the teas I normally make as a latte, the Christmas/winter/fall teas) because its such a mess right now. Thanks for posting this video!! I'm getting so many ideas
You are so very welcome. It just makes sense to have some odd categories that make sense for the drinker. Like earl grey or lattes. Is so perfect and after using it this way for over a year, I’m still loving it. 🥰👏👏
I've just discovered that you're back on here and it is wonderful news. I'm so glad you're doing better. Did I see a Yorkshire Tea Toast and Jam in your collection? As someone born in Yorkshire I have to tell you I've never seen a flavoured Yorkshire Tea before! It must be one just for the export market.
Yay!! Thanks for the warm welcome back 🥰 it’s so nice to be back in the groove again. And yes, you spotted correctly. It was not a tea I could get locally, but a friend sent it to me. So fun. It’s all gone, but I kept the packaging. It’s just so beautiful. 🥰👏
I also have a rolling cart of teas I've not tried yet... It's slowly being chipped away at but I really need to stay with my no-buy/low-buy until I've tried them all. It's no longer overflowing 😂
ooooh that's a Fellow Corvo EKG Electric in matte black. I cannot say enough amazing things about that kettle. A feature it has that I never knew I needed... temperature holding for 60 minutes! No more running for the kettle, it's perfect when I get there. It's a dream!
I need to organize my cupboard too, I was using clear "boot bins" as medium-sized storage bins for my teas but my collection is slowly outgrowing them. Maybe I should take a trip to Ikea
Tea does have an expiration date but that doesn’t mean it’s unsafe to drink. It just loses a bit of its flavor. And its not hoarding, just because a hobby looks different than what you would expect doesn’t mean that someone is hoarding something. People like to read as a hobby and have hundreds of books, most of which aren’t read but they are collecting the books. Hobbies in the form of collecting are different for every collecter, makeup, books, action figures, ect. And even tea, but if it’s stored properly it can last a long time. And Jann also drinks tea everyday, multiple times a day and most times it’s a different tea each time. Does it looks like a lot of tea to someone who doesn’t drink tea the way she does? Probably. But someone who drinks tea the way she does will understand.
@alyssamanuel3876 so well articulated, thank you for that. You are correct, hobbies can look completely unrealistic to someone that isn't into that hobby (or that far into it). Thank you for this kind response to @NewCreation6123 I really appreciate it. Hugs.
@NewCreations6123 thank you for hearing out @alyssamanuel3876 and a huge thank you for the reflection and the apology, that takes a lot to do, and I'm so thankful for your kindness in doing that. Hugs.
