To be fair I think play style has a lot to do with it too. Japanese players tend to play out more neutral and methodically in general, I dont think Tea or Zack was expecting Sparg0 to have so much explosiveness AND precision to his gameplan. Not to mention Zack's first MU experience against Aegis were the 2 best players in the world at piloting them. That being said Sparg0 has definitely grown to be a serious threat to the meta. I used to be a doubter and Im not afraid to admit I was wrong. Kids incredible. Hope to see Japan bounce back though

I won't argue that sparg0 is better than Tweek or not. But Cloud has a way easier time against Pacman than Diddy. Any swordie has an advantage vs Pacman, let alone one with projectiles.

@@alangodinez5487 yeah, most people put pacman as -1 or -2 for diddy. crazy how much tweek was able to pull off when hydrant and bonus fruits wall out monkeyflip, banana and his weaker attacks that don't break hydrant

@@HoshiArt That's why Tweek is where he's at; his patience and ability to fight through a hard MU is amazing. I don't think Diddy has it that hard, but he definitely loses it a bit. Cloud on the other hand, xd I think he beats Pacman in close and long range combat. Maybe not middle range.

Pac-man is Diddy's hardest mu. Cloud is one of Pac-man's hardest mus. The comparison isn't fair at all.

It's crazy to think that pre-pandemic players like Nicko, Larry Lurr, Charliedaking, etc were giving Sparg0 a hard time, and now he's become a consistent top 10 threat. Cloud was seriously holding him back a ton. Glad Pyra/Mythra worked so well for him, and he still gets to use Cloud occasionally for favorable matches

@Shikari xox No. Pre-buffed Cloud was holding him back. Buffed Cloud had a few adjustments that massively improved his kit and disadvantages while encouraging his main mechanic, limit. He is more complete than Inkling (that character badly needs kill options and a change to their ink mechanic).

@@justice8718 he dropped Cloud to secondary for a reason. Cloud is a bad matchup for pacman, that's why we see it here. If Sparg0 could pull off top 10 results with Cloud offline then he wouldn't have dropped him as his main this season. Nothing suggest Cloud has become solo viable.

@@shikarixox1195 I’d say it’s more pythra being a top 3 character than cloud holding him back. Besides, Leo wins with a mid tier so there’s no excuse for spargo who used high tier cloud.

From what I've read, Cloud is known to be a really bad matchup for Pacman. Cloud is DEFINITELY not a viable solo main at this level, he's matchup specific. The fact Sparg0 has turned him into an occasional secondary in favor of Pythra and his results immediately shot up is plenty of proof.

That's not to say he's carried, though. Leo tried using Pythra too and it just didn't work out that great him, and he's the best in the world. But Sparg0 definitely went from struggling to make upsets on pgr players to instantly being a top 10 threat himself when he switched over.

Tea did take it well, probably because cloud is one of Pac-Mans hardest matchups so he knew it was gonna be extremely difficult

@@陳嘉宇-y4q time will tell I expect tea to be alot different come summit, but I did not expect spargo to 3-0 in this fashion. We will see come summit who comes out on top. I know it's a hard mu for pac-man even in smash4 it was hard, but I believe tea will make adjustments.

Y shulk es más roto que Pyra y Mythra, es un sueño guajiro pero si llega a manejarlo será incluso más temido venciendo a mkleo, un representante digno como Kome.

Tener ambos personajes como dual main le sirve mucho, para algunos personajes usa a Aegis y otros Cloud, y está bien así.

@@marcelojch582 ni de pedo. Aegis son top 3 en el juego. Mkleo no se anda con mamadas, no va a perder contra su Cloud, un MU que ya se sabe entero y que incluso Byleth lo tiene igualado.

Sparg0 and Light seem to give Japan a lot of trouble, which is interesting

@@theimpersonator7086 Japan plays very defensive overall. So when they play against a hyper aggressive player who also doesn't make mistakes, they aren't able to deal with it. Nairo was also a Japan killer before.

Tweek lost to Tea, while this set looked pretty convincingly in Spargo's favor. I personally have Spargo at second.

sparg0 is 2nd best for sure now, he's been far more consistent than tweek as of the past few majors

After this tourney, yes I think if a PGR would've been made at this point Sparg0 would be 2nd, he's extremly consistent and was able to take down 2 players that beat him before in this tourney. We'll see if anything changes in the future though, Summit will be very interesting. At the very least Sparg0's top 3 though
