Great looking and performing reel to reel. These are not as plentiful as they once were, your customer will be happy to get this one back home. Thanks for your time!

I got bit by the open reel bug in early 1980's. Not sure of the best bang-for-buck models and not too sure I wanted to spend for an elaborate machine. I read up and bought a Teac X-3 in 1982 for $329 including dust cover. I've kept it in good working order and still use it today. This A-4300SX looks boss. Teac built excellent quality open reel decks. My X-3 got a great review in Stereo Review magazine. I decided to team up my X-3 with a Pioneer RG-2 range expander and it does "open up" the sound in the tape format. My tape of choice was Maxell UD 35-90 and TDK Audua worked well too.

Great choice in tape! And the X3 was a fine deck from Teac.

Had to watch. Just got one at a church fundraiser sale. Along with many Scotch 215, 150 and 203. Of course I can’t take the genre, so lots of recording to do. Oh, and the deck works perfectly. Looks like I may have to look at a manual on hifi engine. Unless you are supposed to remove the take up reel to record on side two. It doesn’t do that on its own.

Great job and great device! This is a very good model from TEAC. I had such an A-4300SX in 1995 and left the most pleasant impressions. Now my favorite is TEAC A-4010S, a magnificent device on germanium transistors, the sound is incomparable.

These are the two I own. However I thought I heard some transistor shot noise from the A-4010s last time I played around with it.

Nice deck. For normal playback, is there a delay after pushing play before the deck actually starts? Thanks.

Yes, that’s normal

Question. Can I connect a synthesizer to it?
@luvradios
@luvradios 6 месяцев назад
You could but it would be better to send a signal from your mixing board to the tape deck, but a direct connection will work.

@@luvradios Many thanks for the info provided, much appreciated. Why would sending a signal directly from a mixer to the tape deck work better than through the synth itself?
@luvradios

@@mass-1128, honestly, if the synth has a variable output it really wouldn't matter if you connect it direct but if the output is fixed you might wanna use a channel of the mixer so you have some control over the signal level you're sending to the tape deck.
