Yes, I rescued a 6 month old pure bred Scott's American Bulldog. Joker is his name I've started doin n have accomplished hand signals w him, since hes dead. It's been hard but he is VERY Smart
Hey 😃👋 I thought I would share this with you because you are like the Pit Bull Master 😄 I got my first Pit Bull like a month max ago. I thought I hated Pit Bulls because all of the thugs have them and of course the bad stigma/ fear mongering that has been spread. This dog is 11 months old and he was completely untrained and lanky with no muscle mass. I've watched sooo many of your videos and have been making him bone broths and ox tails and feeding him fresh goat meats and bones with his mix of wet and dry food protien for top ingredients and he now has this huge yard so in such a short time his body is filling out very well. He is such a faithfull dog to my sons and wont leave their sides at all. Not even for another dog or even food. He follows them everywhere ! He even CLIMBS A LADDER to follow them in their tree house and takes the slide down with them. We let them stay out late one night and we came out to check on them and we heard a LOUD beautiful growl.😀 He was protecting his boys (he couldnt see who we were because we had the lights off) This dog is amazing and NOW I reccomend this breed highly. Thank you for these videos they help out sooo much.
yes just got my first rednose mix puppy a week ago, i did have a mature American Bulldog XL before. just found your videos and i love them they are a great inspiration and help for me. My pitbull puppy is now 9 weeks old and socializing in the park with other dogs goes really great, only thing is he doesnt seem to wanna walk so i carry him to the park and than finally he comes to walk but as soon as he sees other dogs he is immediately curious. Tomorrow im gonna start the obediance training in house with the simple commands you use in the video. Thanks from The Netherlands and keep up the great work!!!
I've been a pitbull own for about a year and my Pitbull is very disobedient. I've been making progress on my own but I'm really glad I found this channel. The "yes" before the treat is a good tip.
Not how I do anything, perhaps a difficult animal unlearning, where squired. Should be looking up smileany cue, chain or minor prong. Super sensitive heel closer this side. A few things and almost effortless. They have harmed these animals to almost. Not this gentleman these liars idiots with moron women don’t understand eons and importance of bond, this is a contract. As Wehr or Catch, my life depended on a catch as baby in field. When bulls were reality not vets side line. I could do my job as home all safe secure, no nonsense. Disheartening I’ve raised fabulous dogs even given away many fo deserving. These menaces have the strongest argument thst many should never be allowed the privilege of magnificent top absolute famous or sought after lines. Genius on par with Deutschland Sh. Belgian, a the border collie etc. . I wish had kept pair. Can’t invest that assurance of trust, no human need fear. Sane as Retriever or sweetest, but if combat, it wished it, never would fight Idiots threw dog over fence. Just broken hearted monsters. Sadistic dog knows Nothing inside fences. Cretins.
Lol I'm on my second rescue bully and they are so stubborn but worth it when they are finally trained but they still are stubborn and lazy lol love bullies
@@whocares4464 Because they are all mongrels, you make my very argument valid. A game dog will never bite a human being, no more than a golden retriever! We are the creators of such animals the horse off the steppe, we were there. Day one, the dogs crossed oceans of time with us when I’ve sheets reached one and a half two kilometers into the sky over us now. We were the only animals that could find water and food under the frozen. The horse and us, watch how a horse will smash the ice to drink or move snow to graze as other domesticated beasts follow. The difficulties of survival created us all. How do you think we crossed the grasslands of forever. There’s no food for us, do you eat grass? You know nothing of purebreds or guiding evolution. Just laughing hubris at pretending you could survive at all if we didn’t invent nitrogen from the sky to feed plants you eat. Do you realize one invention double the planet numbers, one. 4 billion souls would die starving but that, now look up who created these things, even dogs. What’s these top dogs lineage, best animals. Where are the breeds created. That all the best are of a certain tribal groups I’d a hint. Try Wild stallion rescue, or raise a wolf. It’s as absurd. A dog not specialized or brilliant, exceptional is nothing. It’s eons of lives work destroyed. The kindness wasted! It’s our assured doom, and our folly!
Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!
Actually your dog is very smart he got out of his position because he was paying such close attention to you that he heard you say come and started coming I know for the videos purposes you were intending for him to stay still but that just shows how much attention your dog actually pays to you which is amazing
@@GeneralSherm Yeah they’re actually a lot more affectionate and loving than people realize. All they see is a vicious dog thanks to all the media hype showcasing them as these psycho man killing blood lusting beasts from all the attacks caused by human neglect and abuse.
@@Renee-zy6oy exactly the media basically tells people what to believe when in reality people need to spend time with these dogs then judge them rather then believing what the media tells them
I’ve had my bluenose pitbull for about 9 months now from at 8-13 weeks. this dude only know sit, lay down, and paw and here in the house. Believe me if we’re outside he doesn’t listen at all, and with treats he tries to bite my hand. This is so much work.
He's still a puppy. Mine is about a year and a half old and he listens pretty well unless he gets distracted by a squirrel or bird or something. Well worth the wait though
When I was 3 my dad got me a red nose pit bull and he was my absolute best friend all throughout elementary and middle school he died of cancer last year and a piece of my heart died with him I’ll love you forever Shelton ❤️
I’m a new dog owner my pit is only 3 months old, this helps so much. So far she learned sit but with your advice I’m hopeful we could bond better and learn together too
That dog is smart. He knows it's only them two there and when he's saying his name talking to us in the video, he doesn't react. The dog is like: 'eh, he's just talking to the phone' . 😂
Thanks for the 'stay' way. Never knew to do it this way. Makes perfect sense. Took 3-4 tries. We have an unaltered (awaiting neutering) adult male from Humane Society, and he only came with 'Sit', so we are starting from scratch. Thanks again!
Hahaha that's the situation I feel like I will be in if I don't train a new puppy I rescued too haha. Luckily I have a cat who likes to train dogs too 😅
this has to be one of the best videos i’ve seen so far, i just recently got a pitbull she’s 1 and doesn’t listen very well. these simple commands has definitely helped
This was a huge tip! I’ve had my pit for about a year now...he’s a year and about 6 months and he listens for the most part but is still just a little stubborn at times. He does sit and shake really well of course lol but I’ve always tried to work on getting him to lay down and he really didn’t like doing it on command but using the treat worked fairly quickly!
I’ve had golden retriever and a German shepherd. My girlfriend got a 1 year old pitbull and let me say that surprisingly he is the calmest 1 year old pit Bull I’ve ever seen but holy fuck he is stubborn
I’m a first time dog owner and I got a bull boxer, her name is lily and it’s been almost a month since she arrived and your videos help a lot. I made the mistake of using my hands as distractions and it took a week of my hands in my pocket before I could use something else as a tool for distraction, that’s when I found your tug o war video, now me and lily are working on discipline and understanding the word no. I am very grateful to have a great community to belong to and the help I need. Thank you
Just now, a year and a half rescue, she’s the most brilliant animal. She wants to please, wonderful friend. Thank you so much. Just gotta be calm, patient and super cool. Animal Husbandry is just about communicating, thanks my friend, it’s good to be able to speak the language like Dr, Doolittle🙏🤞💪❤️
Have a 12 week old rednose and your videos make me feel confident about my choice and how to train. Their reputation unfortunately made me hesitant but the comments on your channel and your good boy Bo makes me feel like with the right attention and work Bosco will be a good companion! Thank you
I have a 8 week old and I was so worried I made the wrong choice on the breed but like you said these videos make me so confident. I'm not taking any changes I'm taking time to train him so we'll
I have grown up with pit bulls but I had a negative impact from my bio mom, but I just got my first pit bull puppy so trying to get over my fear and trying to find the best way to train my pit bull since he’s my service dog prospect and will be training to be my service dog when he is older and I’m starting with the basics
6:50 When you said “Don’t give him a ‘come’ command.” ...the dog heard the word ‘come’, that’s when he got up out of his position. He was actually following the command.
I've trained 7 Pitbull's at one time and it wasn't hard at all , but this American Bulldog that I have now is something different , I tried the same with him and he doesn't care about nothing I say but when he wants a treat he barks at me to get my attention and then he goes and sits and then when I get to him he goes down without me saying a word , SMH 🤦🏽♀️ but I've been told that American Bulldogs are hard to train and I believe it , He's soon to be 2 years old and I was told if I haven't trained him by 3 years old then there's no hope , I'm no given up on him , imma keep working with him 🐾🐕🐾🐶🐾❤️💯👩🏽🦳🙏🏽
Thank you for your videos. Just came across them tonight. We rescued a 2 year old pitbull. She is pretty good understands sit but not the other commands. We have a cat and I know it is going to take a lot of time and effort and patience before they can coexist peacefully and we need to start from the beginning. I look forward to working with her using your techniques and advice
I got my first pitty puppy the other day. He’s small like 8 weeks old. I’ve had one pitty before but she was adopted as an adult. I need to train him to be obedient and docile but also I need to teach him to attack on command and protect my home. So far he learns very fast and listens well so I see potential.
Just found your channel my bully is 10 months old and super hyper today he jumped on my truck then on the tool box then over my head he loves jumping I'm trying to teach him to sit so far he understands alittle I will follow your training videos thank you
I adopted a pit bull mix (guessing lab mix) who was found in the woods with major mange. Animal shelter, treated him for the mange… I will be honest, he looked ugly. Which ( but was sweet) , was my advantage. People looked at him and went icky, and I looked at him and went what a sweet boy. I’ve had him for two weeks… I have treated him holistically for the mange, And hair growth. Week 3 sees my All his hair has grown back. He is such a sweetheart very intelligent… I’m very loving.
Trained my last dog of 15 yrs did a lot right and wrong but he was a good boy. I now have a pup , I’m doing ok training but needed some help , found your channel 😁. Already see how I was doing stay wrong by recalling after stay instead of going back to him. Thanks. Definitely will be binge watching
This is great information. I have a pit puppy. Had him since he was 4wks due an aggresive mom. He's 4months now. Working on submission to keep him from jumping at me at the door and the counter.
I've got a 2&1/2 year old blue Fawn bully . He has so much energy all the time . When walking with a leash on a collar whether it's a regular collar or a prong training collar he can care less . The only thing that has made him chill out during our walks is a harness with the d-ring in the front . He hates it but walks somewhat normal when we walk with the harness . I've tried the snap backs and the opposite direction turns to no avail . The harness is the only thing that really really works for us .
I have a pit, but we adopted him when he was an adult, so his habits are out of my control right now 😅 but he ended up giving us some mix pups so that's a bit more in my comfort zone. Thank you for the great advice!
in obedience training for my dog they said it takes about 500 repetitions for the command to lock in for simple commands like sit. stay, and lay down. you wont do it in just a week. it is something you have to continue. you are right about follow the nose. works every time and treats are the best training aid i have found. they even used my pitbull to demonstrate the new commands each week as she picked up on them fast she was eager to learn and get those treats. the other thing to do with a pitbull is to socialize them with other dogs and people if you want them well adjusted. before training to be my service dog and as a pup i let her meet 30-50 people each week as we went out. she has good instincts as to what and who is a threat but does not see everyone as a threat, her instincts are still there but she is very accepting of strangers that are not dangerous. if your dog does not trust you should not. but make sure they are social to know the difference. also look into what is called a "clicker" studies show the sound from them has an effect on a dog.. something about releasing endorphins that make them happy when they are rewarded with that. i got mine from petsmart and used it to move my girl off treats for training and they do work
I have a 2 and 1/2-year-old American bully who has always been so even tempered. I just rescued a baby pitbull. 3 weeks old. Incredibly bright as I'm sure you know! This was very helpful. Start with the basics.
So, I must first say that I am blessed!!!! I have a pure breed Red Nosed female Pitbull that I bought from a breeder two years ago to save her from the life they had planned for her! .... She is the absolute sweetest dog I have ever owned!!! I used to be absolutely terrified of pitbulls because of their reputation! I also have a female Border Collie. Cupid, the Border Collie, helped me train Frigga with the basics of potty training, sit, stay.. etc! I had soooo little to do!!! To this day, I don't even have to worry about Frigga doing what she's supposed to! . Anyone who doesn't want her loving on them, the most likely thing she wants, just has to tell her to go lie down. If she gets stubborn, just say, "What were you told to do!", she will immediately comply because she knows she's in trouble and wants to make you happy. I'm here because I realized that I can train her to follow silent hand signals!!! Looking for ideas for that! BTW, I am Not a professional,... but I love my dogs and treat them the way I would like to be treated! .. If my Pittie Frigga has a bad habit, it would be that she absolutely loves everyone, doesn't know what a stranger is and wants chest and belly rubs because she thinks that's why she exists! Lol. Oh and food! I keep her on a diet because she will eat Anything and question later!
Thank you so much. God bless you. I just got a pitbull boxer puppy she is 8 weeks old. She already learned to sit but the biting is what we are working on
It's hard to train my dog like that because she's so very hyper but I'm happy that you're telling us what you know bro I will do my best so I can train my puppy so we'll thank you men God bless
I was first time pit bull owner 7 years ago. I never watched training vids, but your method is basically the one I used and it’s 1000% effective. I verbally taught him to sit, give me left and right paw, lay down, crawl, rollover, and smile. I think pit bulls are easy to train by the way, I can’t take all the credit. But I’m at the point that I don’t have to say anything. My pit bull responds to visual cues that I do with my finger. Mind you, I don’t yell at my pup, I talk to him like a regular person. Dogs are pack animals and respond to the alpha. I think him viewing me as the alpha takes part in his obedience. I’m at the point with Thor that I will go out and mow the lawn. I’ll tell him to stay on the deck, and he will not move until I give him the green light. I walk him around the block with no leash. Which I used a choker for. When he walks around the block he’ll walk about the length of what the leash would be, he’ll wait for me to catch up, then continue walking. If a dog walks by, I tell him to sit, and he won’t move until I say so.
Great starting video. I just rescued a 6yr old male pit. I dont think he has had any training yet. Cant wait to try these techniques. You make it look so easy.
Finally I have a better understand of the recall and that I always break my dog from the stay, the communication through leash has him stumped but I needa just keep the little walkies fluent for him to get used to more of it cause his still in a pulling phase, I mean he always takes me on walkies lol ,well atleast to a certain point only cause he has got to get tired and along the way leaving my place there are quite a few houses with dogs vacant.
Just adopted my 3rd senior Pitt. He’s so sweet but needs training. Do more training tips for older rescue dogs. He obviously has bad habits( not bad considering) but trying to train to be a good citizen. Appreciate your channel! Thanks!
My pitty boxer mix doesn’t lure, but he does know sit and lay. He also knows spin and speak. He learned speak in an hour. 😊 I do yes and a treat as a positive reinforcement.
I have my pit bull trained to low crawl to me wherever I’m at... she stays sits rolls over high fives fetches everything... I swear she is one of the smartest pit bulls I’ve ever seen
Thank you! I am adopting a little pittie this week! I have a 6 year old pittie already and I haven't trained him. I need to get on it. Thank you for helping me !
Great video I adopted a pit/lab mix Soon to be 5 month old pup. He’s doing well but your videos will be helpful. He’s napping right now 😂🥰 thank you, I’ll give an update what we did and how it went. He’s a good boy. My main concern is I want to be able to handle him now on the leash while he is a puppy 🐶
I am so glad you take the time to do these videos l have a 11 week old Pitbull he is my second one our frist one was found in a bag in my backyard and we where told she was one she passed away at the age of 7 from cancer we could never walk her cos she was not a good dog to take out but loved being around the kids my son would start motor bike up and she would rum beside him for ages or get in the pool with the kids it took me 3 years to get over not having her around me so this time we got a puppy and cos of you l am able to teach him more cos you are teaching me Thankyou so much Rambo also says thankyou lol
Thank you! A lot of basic and very helpful information explained in less than 15 minutes! I am a new owner of 2 previously owned and slightly trained male, 8mth old blue nose pit bulls. I got one 2 months ago and the other last week. Both are very friendly and affectionate but not towards each other. They get along with my 2 pomeranians and hang out with our cat! I can't have the 2 pitbulls together at all. The first one won't have it. I am trying to learn how and what commands to use for absolute control to possibly avoid any fight.
I really appreciate the way you train your PITBULL, & are very honest about not being a BONIFIED TRAINER. Because I like your style. I don't want to have to give a Command out loud. All the Dog's I've ever trained were either by the Tilt of my head or hand movement.
I adopted an American Pitbull Terrier from a local foundation 3 months ago this July 6th, they estimated he was 10 months but he was really 7. He's the sweetest pup but man is he stubborn. Leash training has been become a battle of wills and I'm constantly trying to get him to stop pulling. He has a vest made for his strength, I won't do choke collars, but I need to figure out how to get past his stubbornness otherwise I won't be able to keep him. He's already hurt my poor Mom who's disabled due to his strength and size. Im hoping trying these methods will work better than what I've tried so far.
Do you train before or after feed time or do you use feed time as training time as well? If you do it before or after, what treats do you use? Thank you 🙌🏽
Thank you for this! I got my pit a few weeks ago, she’s fixed, she’s 3 and she’s so loving and she’s a pretty good listener! I have 4 kids and I have always been so iffy about pit bulls till I met her! But I will always be aware just like I have with any dog just because I used to be terrified of dogs anyways lol (from bad experiences when I was a teenager sneaking out to party) but she’s a pretty good listener already and I am her favorite , she has to go with me everywhere. She loves my kiddos too . But I wanted to figure out how to make sure she knows my fiancé and me are dominant and she has to listen to us, just so I feel more comfortable about it because you just never know. I wanna be able to tell her to sit , stay, come, lay down, follow. Glad I came across you’ thank you!
Your channel is the best, it literally help me train my pet. You are on point with your videos, and that flirt pole bomb he doesn't even want treats. The flirt pole is everything can't wait to receive my recent order you are honestly in my book 95% accurate when it comes to this bully thing YOUR AWESOME PLEASE KEEP THIS THING GOING
Great video brother, and bo is beautiful. Good job showing yours and bo’s skills. We have a Pitt bull named bailey and she will be 15 this year. We rescued her at 3 months old and we have such a great bond she can tell what I’m thinking just by looking at me. It’s really an amazing thing. Bailey is the smartest dog I have ever owned, she truly is an amazing Pitt bull. When she is gone we will be rescuing 2 PITT BULLS because we are empty nesters now and have a fenced in yard and a great passion for bully breeds.
I know this video is old, but I’m trying to show my fiancé how to train because we’re looking into getting a Staffordshire bull terrier and I really appreciate your methods and what you do
@@topbullies8536 I picked up my 6 week old puppy yesterday. Looking forward to training him to be the best companion for my family. So yeah, you have one more sub all the way from South Africa :-)
I have a cousin who owns a pitbull that is not trained at all, they leave him out side or in a cage the whole day when they put him inside he jumps, scratch’s and bites you cause he’s happy🤦♂️
You need to remove that poor dog. That’s a very, very bad situation and may turn into an incident where the pooch is the one who comes out worse in the end. Please get a good no-kill shelter involved. Save the pooch 💔
