I clean up my room, turn down my bed, put my salt lamp on and reflect on my to do list and goals for the day. Then I write down one or two happy things that happened during the day no matter how small, and I finally make a little journal entry to allow myself to process the emotions I’m feeling and express them with 100% honesty.
I am on my sophomore year of college right now and there isn't a day where I don't fantasize about my life as a teacher in about 2 years after I graduate. Your videos make me want this life to come tomorrow! I also feel like I have so much in common with you. I'm 5'1 tall and planning on being a high school teacher, plus I basically eat a salad for lunch everyday. I love your lifestyle and you are inspiring me to do better on the 2 years I have left before I become a teacher. Can you please make a video about your experience during student teaching? I'm doing mine in the fall of next year and I'm really nervous about it. PS. I live in New York
Favorite self care is going to get a smoothie/coffee and taking a drive with my windows down and my favorite music playing! Insanely relaxing to spend time alone while enjoying the weather
i reeeeaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyy enjoy when you slow it down and put some music to the video like when ur making the food and ur putting everything into the bowl. it is soooo relaxing and i find myself zoning out its so peaceful.
Hey girl, This video was amazing! You never fail to inspire me and make my day. You’re truly an inspiration to me and so many others. The way you endlessly devote yourself to making lives better/ evoking change is so pure and rare. Through your work and kind words you are positively impacting so many people around you. You truly make this world a better place & I will be forever grateful for the long lasting impact you’ve had on my life. You’re beautiful inside and out ,I wish you nothing but the best🇨🇦❤️
I wish I could put into words how much you inspire me! I am a first year special education teacher at a brand new full inclusion model school. It has been tough build a school from nothing and going through this first year. On my tough days I remind myself of something that you said in a video “Your students are rooting for you” and it puts everything into place for me. Thank you for being an honest and open person on your channel. You will never know how much your strength and light and has been an inspiration to me.
Thank you for your videos I am very grateful. My nighttime ritual is after I eat dinner I make my bed and get dressed into my pjs and brush my teeth then I go watch youtube on my computer for a few hours then I go to sleep. The routine varies and sometimes I forget though.
I found this video because I searched for Evening Routine. I am looking for ideas to become more efficient from after-school to bedtime. I just can't get it all done and get to bed on time. I saw that you were packing, but that couldn't be a part of your nightly routine. If you do indeed have a nightly routine that you do almost every school night, I'm hoping you'll make another video that shows that. I will stay tuned, and meanwhile I will check out your other videos for more inspiration. Thanks!
My favorite self care includes making food and eating it in bed, going to yoga classes to destress, and going on walks instead of driving to give myself time to think!
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and I’m 17 and an aspiring English teacher. Your videos always bring me so much joy! And you constantly keep my goals in check. So thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Teal Keurig twins!!! 💙 pro tip, teacher to teacher, i slice up a bunch of lemons for the week and first thing in the morning, i put 3 lemon slices plus 1/4th tsp turmeric powder in a stainless steel travel cup and fill it up with warm water from the keurig.
I am trying to get better at balancing teaching/ self care especially being a first year teacher.... but my fav self care is taking a nice long shower and watching one of my guilty pleasure shows... greys anatomy etc. ☺️
I listen to the same podcast every single night I used to meditate but this podcast not only soothes me but it keeps my thoughts positive through my sleep. If you haven’t listened to it yet you have to listen to the Unspoken Podcast by Ruthie Lindsey and Miles Adcox my favorite one is the Sophia Bush one A. because she is my favorite person & B. Because her voice is so soothing and calm so perfect for a nighttime podcast or a wake up morning podcast
I’m a teacher, too! I teach sixth grade math. Someone once told me teachers need one hour of silence when they get home to fully decompress from a school day! So, I take that into consideration when doing my favorite self-care! Usually, I will light candles, make sure my apartment is cleaned up, then wash my face really well and use some sort of face mask (I prefer once’s that help with skin tone and getting a glowy look!). Then, I spend my night reading, coloring, practicing my lettering, or indulging in something yummy! Sometimes having quiet time away from the world can be a huge reset button for the next day! I’ve not exactly had the best day today thus this video is well appreciated💛 Thank you so much for being the light on this dark day💞 (ps your hair looks amazing and I’m so jealous ahhh🤩)
My favorite self care is a good walk in the fresh air with my dog, candles, and a cool/hydrating face mask usually with some SNL videos on my phone (Really rough days also require a lengthy shower complete with a jam session) Instagram- Kelzim
My favorite form of self-care is to take one morning of the weekend to slow down! I’ll sip coffee in bed and read, journal, or watch an episode of one of my favorite shows! Then I feel refreshed and rested to have a great Saturday or Sunday. @meredithaholden
My favorite form of self-care is diffusing a relaxing essential oil, putting on a face mask, & either reading a book or listening to a motivational/happy podcast. ✨🌸 @marinagamby
Fave form of self care is CREATING! I’m an art teacher...and I love to carve out a little time before I go to bed to create: paint, sew, make jewelry, whatever the mood calls for. My IG handle is @cassie_stephenz
My life has been so hectic lately and so, I love watching your videos and finding new ways to relax and BREATH! Also, does anyone know the song that starts at 2:30??
My favorite self care thing to do is to write and let all my worries out. Then I’ll put on a face mask, take a shower and watch some Netflix or RU-vid! Writing really helps me de-stress from the day and leave it all behind! 💕 My Instagram is: @Fry_Kate
my favorite self care temporarily is putting on a face mask and watching youtube. if i need more than just a one night fix, I try to spend a day decompressing, not looking at my phone, cleaning, eating healthy foods, watching tv. Sometimes it’s buying a pair of shoes i’ve wanted for forever or eating my favorite food. Traveling is the best as long as it’s relaxing traveling but to do that every time I need self care is not attainable. 💕 instagram: samantha_nicolee25
My favorite form of self care is a self care Sunday! The gym. Long shower. Some Netflix and RU-vid. Clean my room and get ready for the week! Insta: saracatherineturner
My fav form of self care is soaking in a bath with a Lush bath bomb and then listening to one of the many soothing nature sounds on the Calm App. I love the Calm App! @lanslaine
My favorite form of self care is to clean and watch the waves at the beach. I try to go see the waves as much as possible. It’s such an easy way for me to calm down and think about how the day went as well as a way to throw all of the bad things that happened into the waves as they crash to symbolize that bad things happen and there are bad days but they won’t last forever. ( @caree_m )
My favorite form of self-care is smelling good! Sometimes starting the day is hard but what motivates me to get up is using my favorite shampoo and body wash in the shower, then coming out and using nice-smelling leave-in conditioner, body lotion, and perfume/body spray. It makes me feel good to take the time to apply all of that (even if it’s just an extra 60 seconds) and it’s nice to catch little hints of nice scents throughout the day. @fervzc
my fav self-care is doing a wordsearch/puzzle with a face mask on, and my favourite music on! some nice wind-down time after I've had an anxious or stressful day. insta- @eva.mcnaughton
my favorite form of self care is turning off electronics early on in the night to decompress from social media etc, then taking my time with my nighttime routine- shower, skin care and putting on my favorite pjs. then I either read or put on music/an audiobook/podcast and just relax IG: rel8ableteacher
As a student teacher (and soon to be first year teacher!) I NEED a self-care routine. I love to turn on my oil diffuser, light candles, drink hot tea, and put on a face mask before bed. @kristalutgring
My two favorite forms of self-care are listening to music and singing/ dancing in my room and my sport (track and field) such as practicing and competing 🌻 IG handle: @hanniemadden
My favorite form of self care is winding down after a good workout to shower & face mask then I READ! This year I promised myself to read at last 1 book per month. I figured if I’m going to be a teacher one day I need to be able to recommend some good books for my future kiddos! @luisajacosta Ps. I love your teacher vids so much! I hope I become as caring for my kids as do you!
My favourite form of self care is taking a bath, lighting a candle and reading a good book. When I do this I feel all my anxieties from the day disappear and a good face mask always helps too ❤️ @jayla_kaip
