The most hateful things are those done by teachers. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but the good thing is that now you'll never act this way toward your students. Thank you for sharing. I like your story telling skills.

Eric, you were the victim of a very immature person with a big ego. That would have been devastating to anyone and no doubt has written on the slate of who you are. The sad thing is that this kind of thing is still going on and scarring our vulnerable young people. Your story is shedding light on this, so thank you! It also says a lot about the kind of person you are: resilient, conscientious, compassionate and respectful. Your students are lucky to have you!

Woah!😣 I'm so sorry that you went through that. Can't imagine what it might have felt like. Teachers shouldn't take what their students do personally. It leaves sadness and pain. I never want to be such a teacher so I'mma work hard on myself. This is so enriching. Thank you very much for sharing your story, Eric!

Thank you so much for listening, Vanessa! It's so easy for us to get stuck in our own minds and situations that we forget to look outside. I hope this video can help some teachers out there consider the lives and minds of their students more. 🥰

Thanks for sharing Eric. I also felt really embarrassed listening to what the principal did. He stooped so low. This just further convinced me that not every teacher deserves to be a teacher. I’m a part time teacher myself and I know at least more than the principal. Teaching is very important, as it shapes a person mind for the future. But just some unqualified people think they are fit for it and ruins someone’s live. Wish there’s a way to change that really

Thank you for saying that, Solid! It will be difficult to change the world outside us unless we try to change ourselves first. I hope all teachers strive to be a positive influence on their students' lives! 🥰😃

Hi Eric. I'm so sorry you went through that. What your director did, that "revenge", was something immature that unfortunately marked you, and I'm really sorry. I also have a story. When I was little I was hyperactive. I know that sometimes I caused chaos but I managed to control myself. The chaos wasn't something of all the time. Also, I was a good student, that made up for the mess I sometimes made. However, two of my teachers knowing my hyperactivity condition, they thought I was just a spoiled girl. When I was in preschool, my teacher grabbed my shoulders and shook me violently, yelling horrible things at me. That left me scarred because I never understood why she did it. Then, my first grade teacher used to yell at me, hit my table, leave me without recess, and lock me in the classroom. I was the only one she locked up. After all this time, I still hate my early stages of school thanks to those two teachers. For them I almost gave up studying, however, I managed to overcome it and show that I was not a spoiled child, but that I was dealing with my hyperactivity condition. Now that I am a teacher, I have taken those experiences to avoid making those mistakes and not leaving a bad mark on my students. I always worry about giving the best to my students. I always make sure that they not only learn from my lessons but also that they enjoy and have a positive experience while learning.

Mila, that's a touching story. As a kid I was usually the naughty trouble maker who got punished, at the same time as being one of the smarter kids who could do the work easily if I could be bothered (I usually couldn't). School just doesn't work for some kids. As a teacher myself now I have to try hard to see the difficult kids as what they are - not bad or naughty or malicious but simply kids in a place that doesn't fit them. It's important to praise all achievement and improvement, and find ways to let them all take part. At the same time there need to be firm limits to behavior that can't be crossed. It's a difficult balance.

That was really hurtful of your principal, no wonder you felt so sad 😔 I would have cried! I’m surprised the other teachers or your parents didn’t realise it was so unfair, and say something or do something about it, because it actually reflects very badly on your principal. I think if he tried that in Australia he probably wouldn’t have got away with it 🤔

I wish I knew why nothing happened. If I had to guess it could have been such a big event with so many people, everyone focused on their own lives. But it doesn't excuse none of the other teachers saying anything. Perhaps they were afraid or not interested in making waves. So all in all, I felt quit helpless. If I didn't say anything it would've died with me. :)

a story so much teacher eric her story coincides almost the same as mine but my case was a teacher she didn't like me reason all the math classes I attended she didn't have the patience to teach me numerical tactics 20 years ago and she was mad at me reason she wanted me to be born already knowing all this it was giving me agony that I almost left school because of her I just didn't leave because at the time it was the end of the year and my parents were paying the tuition.

That's so bad, Mario! So often students fall in or out of love with a subject because of the teacher responsible for educating us. 😥 I'm so happy that you are doing your best and setting an example for your students. 🙏☺

my students make fun of me in front of me, in front of whole class, most classes, most days !! When i tell them: ”Sometimes Teacher Baby Face goes home and cry. Teacher Baby Face”s pillow wet” - having seen my weakness - the little monsters then go for the jugular!
@etacude

Kids can be very creative when searching for weakness. They'll try out different names and methods until they find something that clicks. Then bammm! They've got you! On the brightside, Kev, babyface is actually a great compliment! 👍

@@etacude to their utter astonishment, Baby Face is my own nickname when they counting how many wrinkles today. Have I actually "grown" a new one since yesterday? However, the universe has blessed me with small classes of only 10 students, all of whom come from "nice" families. If i were down at the local high school in a real class, they would DESTROY me.
