I have been sharing teacher tips on this channel for a while, and today I decided to release a chatty, informal video discussing my fondest memories from my first teaching job. Having written down my memories, it would appear that school trips stand out as inspiring moments which I still remember clearly to this day! I hope that listening to my teacher tips and ideas help you to think of exciting ways to inspire your students when you start your new teaching job. Those notebooks are beautiful, my favourite is the botanical one! Always been a fan of Ohh Deer's stationary. I've been working as a TA for the last two years and am starting my teacher training (school-based) in September. I’m so nervous to start my NQT year in September after a very emotional and sporadic year on supply. Your videos are always so positive and really help! I’ve never heard of Ohh Deer but their products look lovely. I’d love the desk planner or pencil case. And I ADORE Wagamama!! What a lovely memory 😍

LOVE the stationary and video! This channel has been my rock throughout my PGCE! In the last 5 weeks of my final placement before I meet my new class and start as an NQT! All of it! I've just found out my first year of teaching is going to be with year three 🤗 I'm so excited but nervous too. Naturally, the desk planner would be extremely helpful, the notebooks too, to log my thoughts and 'to-do's'. However, if I had to choose one, it would have to be the cards. Prioritizing, (see, I'm thinking like a teacher already) before i think of the up and coming year, I must thank the teachers I have worked along side this year in my training. They have made me who I am today! Beautiful cards for my words of thanks. I can't wait to plan school trips and celebrations now! 🤗

I loved this video, it was nice to hear your experiences and tips you have from them. I love all the stationery and it would come in very handy going into my final year of university and final placement before graduating. My favourite is the notebooks as it will help with my note-taking for lecturers/assignments, as well as lesson planning or reflection on behalf of myself and the children for my final placement x

Good luck with the final placement! Enjoy teaching some ‘normal’ lessons where you concentrate on routine and systems and throw in some risky, out there lessons too (don’t be tough on yourself if they don’t work out!) wishing you the best of luck with the placement and stationery giveaway too xx

I’m the same! I keep almost all my notes inside a dodo diary I have but more recently I’ve kept notebooks on me everywhere I go (I’ve been taking the blue notepad to cafes etc and on the bus!) happy you’ve entered and can’t wait to see who wins! X

I’m going to be in a nursery. Having only had a small amount of experience in the early years (I do have an early years under grad degree) I’m feel extremely nervous, overwhelmed and anxious but also excited and I can’t wait to get started!! X

Hello, these are all lovely items of stationery! :) But, my favourite items are the greeting cards. A little thing such as a thank you card can go along way to make someone feel appreciated & thought of. A card can make someone's day! :D

I love the greetings cards. I always struggle to find cards that aren’t chintzy and fluffy but these are just perfect. I’m due to start my SCITT course this September having finally passed my GCSE maths which has been a battle for years. Almost can’t believe it’s going to happen at last! Would give the cards to the people who have supported me on this journey.

I can remember feeling so nervous before starting my first job! I’m happy I can finally reflect positively on it now all these years later. It’ll be tough but so worth it too. It’s an excited kinda nervous.. all my teacher friends have told me having your own class is soo much better than when you are training. So I’m excited! I’m in EYFS :) can’t wait! Hey! It would be a nice idea if you could film a video on what outfits you wear as a teacher. I'm currently studying at university to become a secondary school teacher but before I become a teacher, I think I need a new wardrobe. Something more mature and suitable for work. Maybe do a video like 'My outfits of the week as a teacher', that would be cool! - This channel has helped me so much in understanding what being a teacher is like, keep up the good work! :)

I’m going to be starting my PGCE in September, I think the cards are a wonderful idea. Especially when I finish the year, I think it would be kind and probably a surprise for them if I was to give my mentor a thank you card.

I think your mentor will greatly appreciate that. When I mentored some students my favourite gift was a children’s book for me to keep/ read with my class. It was a lovely gesture! But I’m all about cards too, always feels so personal :)

Do people recommend teaching in secondary school? I'm 31 and stuck in a job I don't like but I've always had a passion for history and have a history degree. Over past 5 or so years I've always had a little look into teaching but always got scared by the amount of people leaving the industry and a lot of other stuff mentioned such as stress levels and very long hours. Can anyone give me an honest answer what its like atm please? I would be very grateful.

Emma Stewardson I read an amazing book called “how to be an outstanding primary school teacher” for differentiation there is a book called “the 7 ts of practical differentiation”- some are totally unrealistic/ impractical to do in every single lesson but it’s a good eye opener. Then for my subject knowledge in Science I got a book called “ Science for Primary and Early years” by Jane Devereux which was really helpful x

Hiya, I am thinking about becoming a Primary School Teacher via the QTS Teaching Apprenticeship in the UK, however as the apprenticeship requires a degree beforehand in any subject, I'm planning to do a degree in Criminology and Sociology as that is also something I am interested in, especially as a backup. I was just curious on your views of the this alternative route and if that would place me at a disadvantage, in comparison to other candidates? I am also going to apply to do some work experience at primary schools in preparation for my QTS training, any advice on how to gain the placements? Thank you! :)

I think this sounds like a really interesting route and it's probably more common than you think to combo a teaching degree with an area of interest. Like you say, it'll be something else to consider in the future too. It's a great idea to get as much experience as you can in schools too. The Wagamama trio was completely free. The skiing was free too but only because we qualified for funding. The skateboarding I think we paid a small amount but it was covered by our school PE allowance. Hope this helps! X
