One thing I like about first grade is no state testing and less grading...teaching is stressful enough and I know how stressful it is for state testing from my teacher friends in grades three and up.

I teach 3rd grade ELA to 2 classes. I wish we did practice tests like you guys do so that it gets them practice with what the state test will look like. We do tests over a power standard after teaching it for several weeks that is practice, but I like how you guys do it. I had a Student Teacher last semester and loved it! It is hard to give over your job, but then again it’s kind of nice. 😊 I too felt like I talked so much bc I guess technically you are bc you’re teaching and then teaching your Student Teacher before, between, and after. Now that she’s not here, we all miss her. It was nice having another adult in the room to help and talk too.

Well Katie, In my part of the country a few states north of you all the feels like temperature has been getting down into the negatives and all on top of the snow and ice. In fact, schools were closed for almost the whole week. Yes Princess, that is Middle Tennessee's Winter Wonderland for you. ..... And here you are still looking pretty. - Dwight

2:49 I grew up in San Diego, also with outdoor hallways at my school. I’ve tried to explain the concept to my Virginia students and none of them get how that’s possible, but they do make sense for generally nice weather locations like Florida and Southern California.

It's actually from a retiring teachers garage sale years ago! Closest I have heard to one is someone said it's like a newspaper wire rack? I've never been able to find it to link.
