A blast from the past: the first course in the Pennsylvania location! When the Ecole de Legerete began in the USA, there were only two locations, Pennsylvania and New Mexico. You can imagine the days of travel (some teachers in training traveled as much as three days each way) and the dedication these people showed in their desire to have access to this information. As one rider adroitly stated, "It's still cheaper than flying myself and my horse to Europe. And it's the only other option besides doing that." The first class of teachers in training were breaking new ground in the art of equitation as Philippe Karl's methods had not yet reached US soil in any kind of sustainable way.
