I remember when the Ofsted inspectors came to my college. I went passed my teacher’s class where he was teaching another class. I banged on the window to wave at him and I had no idea the college principal and the inspector was in the classroom. I walked down the corridor and the college principal came out and told me to stop. The teachers and the class laughed about it the next day.
ye I had a similar story aswelll One time the ofsted inspectors and I was outside of the class taking a shit and when I came out I just went outside and knocked on my classroom s window to troll my friends but 2 inspectors came and my principal was here too then I went back inside and they shouted at me and then the big far mop lady came in classroom (she could barely fit through the door) and fell on a student and broke the table and the students leg he was in hospital after but the fat mop lady shat herself and couldn't move so she had to be picked up by the principal the ofsted inspectors was in disgust and gave this school inadequate rating altogether because of that fat mop lady btw she once fell down broke one of the classrooms window once with her leg and her leg was stuck on the shards on glass and the students laughed and another fatass mop lady fell down on a school shack van and the whole van fell down even when people were inside and the van was on fire and it nearly burnt down the school lol the fat mop lady took a shit in one classroom one time and people saw her doing and she left a whole fucking dump crap full of shit the classroom and people had to deal with it and sat in a pile of actual shit
@Enni Roc What do you mean? There has been enough questionable behavior by teachers that it might be valuable to have cameras for review, at the very least. Like say a teacher is accused of a certain behavior, the recording could be reviewed. It would work the other way around also if a student was accused of a certain behavior.
@@VioletJoy good luck having teachers with cameras. Presuming you are from the US, also more risk of being shot at by a student! Who would work as a teacher anymore? Under constant scrutiny by an uneducated mass of parents who can't raise their children then blame it on the teacher!
I had this one math teacher in high school who was super nice and really funny, but the only day I felt I actually learned was when the principal came in lol
A few months ago the ofsted inspector plus our school director came to our geography class (we are highschool seniors). Our geography teacher used to be very chill and the opposite of strict so he never gave us homework (good and bad at the same time because we ended up doing terrible in our finals). So we started the lesson with a discussion about a specific topic, probabaly the effects of globalization on the pandemic or something like that, and then the inspectors came in and he was obviously a bit nervous and surprised. So he went like "we will now start talking about the homework I gave you, it was about writing down some of the effects globalization had on the pandemic" and it was kind of hard to hold back our laughs because he just invented this nonexistent homework by using our future discussion. He would also let us end the lesson half an hour early usually so this time he said "so today I will let you guys out early, today is just an exception" as if he never did it before.
There is a time where the vice principle came to my class to watch on my teacher teaching back when i was in 5th grade. We have no idea what happened, and my teacher teach just as usual, but I sit directly in front of the class and can see that my teacher's hands and fingers were literally shaking uncontrollably. That was the time i get to know that even teacher could get pressure and anxiety.
One of my teachers had us rehearse the lesson the entire lesson before. Questions and who would answer them, what questions we should ask her, amend our work and we'd have to memorise it to do it live in the lesson, etc. She was pushing her luck when she made us all clap and thank her for another wonderful lesson, but it was always fun
I had a teacher who didn’t care if the principal was in there or not…always the same attitude which was kind of laid back and fun but got the point across
I used to work in a school (not a teacher) and it always stunned me just how things were done so differently when Ofsted were around. Like come on, be judged on what you actually do, not what you pretend to do.
Lol I’m surprised there is no prep? Our college teacher gave us a prep and asked if we could engage and try ask lots of questions. (We we’re a class of “mature” students going off to uni for maths and engineering, fair to say usually there would be no questions as we already knew the material and were just revising. You better believe we “understood the assignment” 😉😂😂😂
At my school when OFSTED was visiting my head teacher prepped and my teachers made us rehearse questions and answers so when we saw OFSTED coming to our class they made his put our blazers on and then the teacher asked us the rehearsed questions and we give the answers
I remember once my language teacher knew that the inspectors were coming the next day and she said she would ask questions and told "the students who knew the answer should raise their right hand and who don't know raise their left hand" so that it would look like everyone knows. and when the inspector came all the people who didn't know the answer was laughing like crazy
Our class was always chosen for student teachers and for when the education department sat in on lessons. Our principal also sat in on a bunch of our lessons. It got to the point where we just knew that if there was a stranger on teacher sitting in the back of the class that we needed to act a certain way. Even the trouble makers listened. We even knew exactly what questions we should ask, and what we should avoid.
Classic Ofsted inspection!! 😂😂 the scl would like for the whole month get you ready for it and train you then when they come the teachers act differently 🤪
I used to be dreadful when ofted visited i remember once me and the 'lads' were taking the mick saying stuff like ' miss have you fixed my phone yet after you snashed it yesterday?' Or 'miss your not gonna draw on us again with ur whiteboard markers.. it took hours to get off'.. best one was 'why did u send like half the class out yesterday miss.. bit overkill ennit?' The teachers sat there and could only smile as ofstwd wrote this all down... it was the FUNNIEST thing ever
Ofsted just gave my school inadequate as a rating 😂 it’s only because of bad behaviour in some kids and my school is going through a lot: moving trust, no headteacher and redevelopment 😂
it was so funny because i was having a biology lesson and the inspectors came to our school. they asked to watch and my teacher wasn’t aware of it and got pretty flustered. later on when they left she was like “I WROTE MITOCHONDRIA ON THE BOARD WRONG!!!😭😭 I HOPE THEY DIDNT NOTICE” she’s actually pretty sweet so it was kind of funny lol
I remember when ofsted came In i got told to sit across the room by myself as soon as I entered the class bc my teachers(only had these two for one hour a week as a revision sesh in y11) for some weird reason thought I was gonna misbehave😭it was honestly so sad I was sat there by myself for the full hour
My chemistry teacher is assistant head of my school, she shouts at the boys as they always disrupt and misbehave. At the start of the day of the ofsted inspection, my AC told my year teachers will be stressed so do what they say. Come my chemistry class, one of the boys says something that sets the rest of them off, and this time we get full blown yelling. Like jeez, chill. Oh wait, inspection.
We had often come one and then we had an assembly the headteacher is like the woman who hasnt given any school a good mark in 12 years gave us outstanding! I was pupil parliament and a photo of us holding a sign saying outstanding was put on every social media platform the school jad. 4 years later its still there.
I'm so lucky, when I had my first inspection my class were bloody angels! Intentionally asked a lot of questions, did their work, laughed at my jokes. It helps that they were adult ed. My next inspection, when i was teaching a class of teenage boys ... did not go so smoothly
My old atl teacher once screamed “SHUT UP” in class one day everyone was flabbergasted fr another day i had her too and i put up a toilet pass (medical condition lets me go toilet whenever) im at the front of the room yeah and she ignores me on purpose! She glances at me with the card in the air high up for ages doesn’t say nothing but then a kid put up his rfl card (negative and positive card he doesn’t have a toilet pass so u het negative if u need toilet) barely even lifting his arm and teacher goes okay you can go be quick to him! And still glances at me (i hated her guts cause she was unprofessional and rude) havent seen her since i started yr 8 and im glad.
Hated that they would know ofsted would come in at certain times because they would plan a class with actual effort for one period and then the next lesson when nobody was observing, it would be the same boring crap
It’s funny cuz my teachers just teach normally like every other time except that the students behaviour was better and the moment they leave, let’s just say it became a whole market in a split second
Honestly, when Ofsted were in that's when students in my class behaved the most. The only thing we ever got bad scores in was actually the teaching. Which would explain why another lot of teachers from a different school had to come in to make sure we could learn in my final year, stopping the school from being shut down.
My school: LQ: Can I divide 12 by 13, fast for 12 years, do a century of push ups, eat emojis, don’t eat, read all the books ever made twice, write the bible in Japanese, and Learn french in 3 seconds. Also make Minute rice In 58 seconds
And you triggered one of mine lol, a sad one though. My cousin is my age and her younger brother was three years younger than us so we were all in primary school and they would be looking through the l&f clothes for clothes to wear, apparently their mother told them to do it. It's really sad cause at the time I was just like coool I'm not gonna do that cause it's someone else's stuff but now that I'm older I realised they were raised poor and starved but their family was the wealthiest in our gen they just didn't wanna spend on their kids. They have a house that's with half a Mil now and my cousin has a job but can't keep a paycheck cause shes discovering nice clothes and food and activities, it's nice she's happy but it's a terrible habit she's got now.
no because i had this one teacher who literally would show up with a bag of markers and her laptop maybe or nothing at all for lessons. and the one day the principal stops by she has a whole powerpoint presentation and kahoot set up. like after the lesson my friend was like “DID YOU SEE HOW FAKE THAT BTCH WASS” good times
If a teacher at least makes an effort to keep kids mental wellbeing. Good. Then it shouldn't matter that ofstead is watching, Hence, I love college for this, wear whatever you want (within reason ofc)
In my class there's a teacher called miss miln And she sits on a table with "speical "kids And they always talk about Fortnight And say stuff like " I'm so rich my mam gave me vbucks And my teacher is like........ SHUT UP ABOUT STUPID FORTNITE

They are in charge of going around to the schools in England and inspect them to make sure they’re following the appropriate educational standards . They’re also in charge of inspecting childcare, local authorities, adoption and fostering agencies.
We had an inspector in a lesson and we were just watching a video and the second the inspector walked in she jumped up her voice went really calm and we were just trying not to laugh about how she was speaking
ofsted teaching year 9 = hell. They came into my key skill lesson and I wanted to die, why co could they not have come to an A level lesson, when all the kids knew what was going on?
My teachers are COMPLETELY different when it comes for observations Ms Keely, English teacher will scream at us to shut up and then someone walks in she’s like “and that is how the author of hatchet managed to encapsulate the readers attention” Mrs Palmers, Spanish will not change a THING. “So it changes from buenos días to buenas”(people walk in)”noches when you distinguish between day and night” **slight wave at people** (These names are completely made up and have no reference to real life)
That would only be true if your school is rated Outstanding, or possibly even Good. Unless there’s a complaint they tend to leave those establishments and focus on the ones struggling, or with complaints. Source: Worked within and alongside Ofsted and have family members whom are inspectors
I remeber they were so mean and then when an important person came to observe, they would be like before hand to be good and they would act so much more different! Like, why?
