I wish my parents did this! A lot of the products like shampoo and conditioners work for some of us, but not all, and we just had to put up with it. This is also so good for teaching them to spend smart.
so i am the only one who could put anything into the shopping cart and my parents would pay for it. damn i miss that. as an independednt person i cant afford to buy anything that i want anymore
My great aunt does that for me and my cousins occasionally because the oldest of us, (me 17 and cousin 16) have minimum wage jobs and bills and can't always afford hygiene products and choose to pay for gas instead.
I love this idea. It’s a great way to learn how to budget your money and mom is there to help you every step of the way. Way better than most of what they learn in the school system.
I wish even as a grown adult I knew how to calculate the taxes of products when I'm at the store 🤣😂 I don't even know my state's tax rate 👀 now you got me curious...new thing to learn, I think yes!
@@tiaraashlee4026 it's a great thing to learn bc it can throw off all your calculations plus any other fees that come depending on the service they're using. My state it's 6% the last time I checked. So I always add that then at the end of the month I do a budget sheet with how much I am gonna pay in taxes for taxes that year. It's crazy but it's gotta be done or else those kids will be way off in their budget calculations.
@@tiaraashlee4026 hey! I was a teacher for 15 years and now work as a scientist….here is the easiest way ever to calculate sales taxes. First of all, find out your states sales tax rate. Here in Maryland, it is 6%. Then, take your pre-tax total, and multiply that by 1.06. That will give you the total including tax. For example….if my pre-tax total was $97.04, I would multiply 97.04 x 1.06 and my total including sales tax would be $102.86.
Omg as a European I thought you meant like financial taxes and was soo confused bc like they're not 18 yet, though ofc it is useful to learn. But that you guys don't have the taxes included on the store price tags is wild, how do you ever know much sth will be? Especially bc different types of products have different tax percentages (at least here), honestly sounds like such a scam to keep you unaware of how expensive your cart is so you'll end up buying more...
I’m curious; say you’re a girl and you get your hygiene budget. Say you spend all the money, but then you get your period and don’t have feminine products. Would you buy them or lend them items like that even if they spent their budget?
I think that is a great idea that you do this with your kids. I just have one question. What about your kids that get periods? Do you give them more money for there stuff sense tampons and pads can be so expensive? Or do you give them all the same amount?
I just came across your videos. This is a great idea. I have a couple questions how do you get started with doing this and how much do you set aside for that three month budget if you don’t mind me asking it is a different amounts for each one of your kids or do you give them the same amount and I also notice that you do a clothing allowance can you explain that just a little bit also
Hey I have a question! What if they’re like a couple dollars short? Would you still give them the money or would they have to put an item back especially with inflation and all that
Well some times it's good for kids to be able to buy stuff on there own and it being the parents money that is so amazing cause they have the experience but they just got the money from the parents
the only thing i like about this family is the mom teaches them how to be self sufficient. those kids will have it down when they start working. i really do admire that
No. They only pay for wants like snacks, toys and such. All their needs are paid for by us but in many cases we give them the money so they can learn to budget with it.
I love this! And I only share to be helpful. But please allow him to buy hair color at Sally’s instead of box dye. It’s almost the same price (i think “ion” is the affordable brand there but it’s been a few years for me) the reason is box dye has metallic salts. It cuts your cuticle to deposit color. Instead of what professional color does by contracting the cuticle to a more “open” state to absorb the color and then contracting to a “close” state to retain it. So much less damage comparatively. That would be like going to the optometrist and when testing your eyes instead of getting droppers to dilate your pupils they just use a scalpel. Like that wouldn’t fly. You need to continue to see. Well it is my opinion you need to have hair on your head. Cutting the cuticle is a “chemical cut” similar to bleaching your hair. It can cause a chemical cut to go from the ends to the scalp and if it splits on the bulb it has a chance to damage the bulb beyond repair and if your papilla ain’t healthy your have no hair. Think of it like a moldy or dead plant. You have to trim the dead to let the rest grow. That’s the same with metallic salts. The only answer is to shave his head or cut it really short to remove the metallic salts. Your son is so young I assume there is not enough damage mechanically(brushing/styling/heat) or hormonally(dht/stress) in combinations with the chemical damage form the box dye. So you can get away with just trimming the ends regularly until it grows out. But I would be more concerned making sure there is not split ends than keeping length. If the splits get to his hairline… it doesn’t matter what age in development. You can have a 40 year old hair line at an age if you just have enough mechanical/hormonal/chemical damage compounded in any order. I highly doubt recommend avoiding heat and highly recommend adding in an oil (literally can buy sweet almond oil for the kitchen or another noncomedogenic {anti-acne, molecule size is so large it can’t clog pores} cooking oil) to his hair at night to avoid friction. Just on the ends. He will wake up and it will feel less like sonic the hedgehog and preserve the ends from getting destroyed if he is a heavy sleeper
I have a 9 yr old son & there is NO way I would let him dye his hair! That's way too young! I was like 13 wen my mom let me dye my hair, but as a mom I wouldn't let my son do it.
I am just curious to know what the budgets are because I know they get a lot of budgets for clothes and for their hygiene so I was just wondering how much it was? only if you are comfortable with sharing it, of course.
Do you have a teacher kids about saving money? I always saved money from a child on by the time I was 18 years old and $40,000 just for babysitting and I was able to take my parents on a trip to Hawaii.
That’s why parents provide guidance on what they need until they are mature enough to know to buy hygiene stuff on their own. It’s teaching how to buy what you need, then only if there’s leftover you can use it how you want.
love this, I have 2 kids 10 and 8. they do chores and Iif done correctly i will give them cash allownce weekly I see you set up your kids is it a bank account you use or a app? I want to do the same as you did please help!!!! lol
Now I am a huge fan of this channel but, I don’t think that kids need to use their own saved money for hygiene products. Especially the girls because you know but I get the toys and accessories stuff.
@@BBBB-nd8pl True. Most of their reels is on how they teach their kids about budgeting and all. It's just weird. Idk, maybe in their part of the world it's normal or something, but from where I come, this style of life is highly looked down upon.
I wish my parents were like this by parents say buy with my money but i do so many chores and dont get paid and my hair is very unhealth becuase of the hair care i use so ya
Question: so I love this idea but I’m wondering if they did a bad job budgeting and ran out of money and needed some hygiene supplies would you buy it for them. ( for example they run out of my but need more feminine products)
I believe she said that for basic necessities, such as hygiene, she will pitch in if they don't have enough. (though I don't watch often, so I may be wrong, but I do think I heard/saw her comment about it)
