I am training my caique parrot, Puffman, to wear a harness. You’ve got to build your bird’s confidence and trust and take it slow when teaching then something new. Never force your parrots to do anything!

The harness is so cute. Great job, Puffman and his mom. Yes, their trust with you is very important. One of my budgies has total trust with me. The other one I'm still working with. Zoey is getting better trusting me. I'm working with her. Every bird has their own personality. Rocky was easy to gain trust with. Very informative video April! #vcstrong ##flockpower

Thank you so much for this video and info. April. I've been wanting to get a harness for my GCC but knew there's no way in hell I would ever be able to even attempt to get it on him. Now I see there's hope 😊. Where do you suggest I find an appropriate harness for him ???

I need to train my galah to wear a harness but its hard 😢. I usually just take him in his small cage with me when i go away from home longer in the summer

Thank you for watching! I bought the harness off of Amazon “BUT” It's a good harness to train with, but I think it will be easy for a bird to snap it off. It's okay for the Puffman because my yard is netted.

I've had my caique for 15 years and bought two harnesses over that time and he flatly refuses to wear them. I've tried a few ways but the little rat just won't play ball 😄 Perhaps it's a colour thing, I don't know. Ile bet you a dollar/pound you don't succeed, but hey, good luck 👍

I will be getting a caique next month, it's a tame baby that gets hand fed by the breeder, but I would like to know how loud they can get :) if anyone knows how loud they are, please let me know 🫶🏻
