We put a big emphasis on socialising our puppies we breed Border Collies.
our dogs are bred to work sheep and cattle. They will require training from about 10months, in order to work effectively.
it is very important to us that our dogs are independent and confident. we like friendly outgoing dogs so that they are enjoyable to work with and can take the training from us as handlers.
we expose them to as much as we can before they leave us. they usually are weaned from the mother at 7 weeks. they usually go to their new homes between 8 and 10 weeks of age.
it is important for them to get separated from their siblings at this young age becuase sometimes pups can appear confident while in the company of siblings..but when they are separated out they can be nervous or timid.
singling them out at 8 or 10 weeks is great for their social development and for allowing them to choose confidence
