Just fell in love with these dance after Anggun does this in Cesse La Pui and A Rose in the Wind... Greetings from the neighboring Asian country, Philippines.
"Basics" 😅- trying to just symbolically follow and imitate these "Basics" has me in sweat and admiration already. I am a great admirer of Balinese and other South Eastern dance and art forms, and appreciate that you explain and show, but with discipline, which means=respect for the art(s). I live in Thailand where they used to have equally wonderful dancing. But alas, here so many young Thais are bashful of their own cultural inheritance, find it embarassing or just worth a giggle and wish nothing more than to "move on" to that modern uniform New World. Many are also so frightened to make mistakes/lose face that they don't dare to go and explain/demonstrate in the way this class does.(Never mind the language barrier on top). So I hope that this wonderful demonstration will be used as good example of how to approach and pass on the knowledge of culture and traditions to others.
Haii Bu dewi, IAM Rama, prospective new student of Indonesian institute of the arts from visual communication design study program. the video that you made is very good, because the video is very helpful for the community or anyone to learn Balinese dance. hopefully more successful ma'am.😊
Thank you. Very beautifully basic steps have been explained Risca, Rita, Arjun and all team. I am just back from Bali and been fascinated by this dance form. Thanks again.
I think that's really a hard dance. You need to exercise so you can take longer in that dance. It's really amazing how Indonesian dance are very detailed and meticulous. ❤️ Btw. Im from Philippines 😚
What is the name of scripture that teaches about this form of Nritya (Dance) ?In Sanskrit ,Natya shastra is name of grantha (scripture ). It is amazing to see kids are taking forward their dharma .
That's interesting because I don't know much about Bali's culture except Novi's Bali kitchen. I can see a strong Indian influence in the choreography & I wonder, does Bali have it's own martial arts of fighting sports?
Hello. I am a Bahasa Indonesian teacher in Australia and would like to teach my students (aged 10-12) this dance. Is there music I can access for them to perform this dance to? Terima kasih
