Thanks Bill, really important and very helpful for a rookie like me. Would you please do the part 3. I’d appreciate and others would too! Please keep up the excellent work for our sport
Would love to see a further video and discussion on 'go as sent' ie: the direction the dog is looking. Say for instance when you're sending for the last retired memory bird in a big marking test. The dog is unsure and doesn't remember the bird. Getting them to trust you and take the line given.
Excellent! I love that only the dog's head moves...no foot movement, no butt lifting. A sit standard that is easy for the dog to understand compared to pivoting the dog with foot and body movement.
Is it possible to use your collar conditioning method, by using the tone feature of a collar instead of a stim? What are the benefits or downsides of that approach. Since the collar is supposed to a positive reinforcement, should it be just to "mark" the right behavior? Thanks for all your blogs and videos, its been awesome to learn from!
Bill can a English lab be trained to be a good duck dog? I have a 5 month old English lab showing me alot of promise. I have people telling me don't waste my time.
Hey Bill, first and foremost just wanted to say God bless you and your family. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to teach all of us were willing to learn and also teaching us to be humble. Finding your messages from God at the end of the video is just a cherry on top that I so desperately needed. Once I get my notes and Malinois trained up I'll shoot some videos, and expect a Christmas gift from us this year! On behalf of my dog Archer and myself, thank you again. And remember, always have fun and enjoy every moment get it on video if you can!
