They have a heart and just share that with their students and it goes so well!! I stressed for months before I took this job and thought what if I am not good enough and wont say the right things and they wont actually learn anything from me. Well it probably depends on where you teach. I teach at a private business english academy, and each level has its own methods and duration, so as im starting by teaching beginners, they gave me the book and with each unit they give me a guide to lead me on how to present my lessons and courses but i still have the freedom to choose any topic i want thats related ofc to the lesson and the level of students/learners :)

Thank you for the video. I do have some questions though. What level are these tips for? I realize many of them are general but something that stood out to me was when you mentioned 'dress up', I can't really think of a place or an age group where this would be appropriate except maybe preschool. Another concern of mine is the line between being the teacher, as the 'authority' figure and as the students' friend. I truly believe it's important to set a clear boundary that even though you may be friendly at times you are still the HEAD of the class. Any thoughts on this?
@TheLanguageHouseTEFL
@TheLanguageHouseTEFL 2 месяца назад
1.Dress up = Dress well 2. Leaders generally don’t tell people they are leaders. If your teaching and classroom management is at skilled up, they will naturally follow your lead. However, it’s not a bad idea to go over goal/expectations during the first day
@bearifiablepau2095
@bearifiablepau2095 2 месяца назад
@@TheLanguageHouseTEFL thank you for the answer. 1. Sorry I was thinking about "play dress up". 2. I would rather err on the side of having boundaries than not. I've seen teachers playing it cool lose respect real quick with younger students (teens for example). I realize this has to do with context, I'm just speaking from experience. I do appreciate your suggestions as they are a reminder to losen up every now and then. 👍

Biggest tip is getting comfortable in front of your camera. Have your camera slightly facing down, too. It gives a better perspective. And get used to looking at the camera lense, to communicate better with your audience. You’ll also want to make sure your audio sounds clear. Lastly try to have an interesting background.
