Thank you for being so professional. I wish more teachers were like this. Sadly it seems like most aren’t.

the majority of teachers are dealing with 20+ students in a classroom. And they may have at least 3 or 4 students like this. It is not easy for them. There are so many children out there with some serious emotional problems. They can be violent. She had to stop several times to address this one student. Imagine if there were more.

@@nemera34 Yeah teaching public schools sucks. It’s also demoralizing because US society considers school teachers losers.

She should have asked her what was wrong. This baby clearly is not having a good day. This was some years ago where SEL was not even considered. She could have showed her some love.

This was a perfect example of showing how a teacher can be a bully. Just because she is speaking in a soft voice doesn’t hide the fact that she is condescending and almost gaslighting the young child. This is how students are taught disruptive behaviors because once the “teacher” uses her “tactics” to try to discipline and correct the child for a simple misbehavior, the teacher will continue to pour on the positive punishment to almost “shadowily” discourage & make the child even more unregulated. Once the outburst comes from the child, a sign of defiance, the teacher will just ramp up their bullying. This leads to IEPs, 504s, MDRs, and any other acronym you want to use against the child, when a simple explanation with Grace would have sufficed. This happening probably everywhere unfortunately 😢
