I saw this in the theater, so empty. There were maybe 10 people scattered around. That just meant we could laugh hysterically without actually bothering anyone. MATT DAMON!!

Apparently the intro with the shitty puppetry was a prank on the investors. They took a ton of money to make the film then showed that and one of them shouted "They fucked us!" before realizing there was more.

This is one of the funniest, and most absurd, movies ever. There are SO many levels of jokes all happening at the same time. It's brilliant in its execution.

"They are going to change his face? This looks brutal! Oh! WTF?!!!" 🤣🤣🤣 The reveal of Gary in brownface with patchy clumps of hair glued all over is perfect.

Every time I hear someone say "Matt Damon" I automatically hear the "Matt Damon" from this film. Also the panthers were the cutest thing ever.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker said that before politicians or anyone else, they hate actors the most. Lol! I agree!

Trivia note: The very 1st footage screened to Paramount executives was the opening scene of the film with the poorly constructed puppet being controlled by the more detailed puppet. 1 of the executives said "Oh God, they (Parker & Stone) f****d us!" by essentially trolling the executives the quality of the puppets & set design for the film before the rest of the scene played out.

Matt and Trey were influenced by the 1960's marionette action show called "Thunderbirds." You would love their award winning, smash hit Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon." Catch it the next time it tours in Canada.

When Dasha said... "Cheekins and cocks?" I fell in love with this channel all over again

I saw this in the theatre with my then wife and there were about ten other people, mostly couples too. The hilarious thing to us, other than this movie, was watching each couple, one by one, over the course of the movie, hear something that was finally the last straw, get up and leave. It got to be a fun injoke between us during the movie how long the next couple would last. We did mini bets between us which couple would leave next. We were the only people laughing. Which made it ten times funnier. It was so awkward. One woman yelled that this movie was sick. Which my ex yelled, 'Sick!' The woman stormed out and her man finally laughed when she wasn't there as he chased after her. No lie, we had the theatre to ourselves by the midway point. We made it all the way, not that it was hard. We couldn't breath we laughed so much just rolling. I swear, for a year straight, all we did was go around randomly saying, 'Matt Damon.' I remember someone asking Matt Damon what he thought of the film and he hilariously admitted he actually went around sometimes too, quoting his name like his character, 'Matt Damon!' When the marionette porn scene happened and they pooped on each other, I went, well, comedy can't go any further. This is its apex. Then I watched their first movie about them being Mormons who fall into the porn industry. I'm starting to think that these guys can be quite outrageous.

As an American, I approve this video's thumbnail as entirely accurate to my people.

The Puppets in this movie were created by the Chiodo Brothers, masters of practical and stop-motion effects for such films as A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and Critters. Matt and Trey toyed with making a sequel to this movie, but this production was so grueling that they ultimately decided they were never going through this again.

The speech at the end has been how I’ve come to understand this world

This is one of those rare films that only gets better with age.

Usually when you joke about delicate subjects it will get a pass if its well delivered or sugarcoated like this movie does with the puppets. Most certainly there would have been a nuclear fallout if this was made live action. Also Matt Stone and Trey Parker have been doing this ever since their first South Park episode so they're professionals :) Everything about this movie is awesome, the puppets, the humor, the songs, its perfect. Glad you picked this one.

This movie literally portrays the US for exactly what we are: an entiry that thinks we can police the world and everyone that feels otherwise is a terrorist. They're nit wrong and I love how they played it off as a ridiculous notion, because it is. It's hilarious and I love it lol

There won't be a second one. The guys from South Park said the puppets were just too hard to get right on film, so shortly after finishing this one they said never again.

When I saw it in theaters the opening fooled me too. I thought it was gonna be that goofy hack puppeting and was amazed when the camera panned out

One of the funniest movies I ever watched. But we are way too PC today to see another movie like this. South Park was ground breaking. One of the best episodes, was when they allowed "shit" to be said on TV. They had a counter that marked each time shit was said.😂😂😂

Find some clips of the old 1960s Gerry & Sylvia Anderson "Thunderbirds" British TV show & you'll get the premise. Then just stir in every Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer Hollywood action movie & the exceptional snark of the South Park folks and you get Team America: World Police. ....a movie only THEY could make! 😁😁

The "puppet sex" scene was a goof. Like, when you're a little boy and you take Barbie and Ken and mash them together. They have no "parts", so they figured they could get away with whatever. They still got censored... Oh well, supposed to be a juvenile joke.

To this day this is the funniest movie I've ever seen. I got baked with my brother and some friends and watched it at the theater the day it came out.

Well, if you're going to give South Park a try then I'd suggest going straight to the movie. Bigger, Longer, Uncut. I went to see it in the theatre and all I will say without spoiling it is there was a whole family sitting in the row directly in front of me with 4 children aged about 5 to 12 and they stayed the whole time. So... I guess it's family friendly.

There are other movies that Trey Parker and Matt Stone did. The first was called Cannibal the Musical. The next was Orgazmo, where a Mormon become a porno superhero. And then of coarse the actual stage play they made, the Book of Mormons.

The best part of this movie in my opinion is how they joke about real things pointing out the hypocrisy. Specifically the name and how America thinks it's the World Police and often cause more damage, ie the starting scene where they destroy Paris... BUT, that's not the funniest bit...those highlights go to how the puppets walked, the sx scene, the ferocious panthers, the plastic surgery, and the phenominal speech about p...a....d.... lets not forget: Matt Damon. 🤣
