Check in with Alex Thomson Racing's Technical Director, Ross Daniel, and Performance Manager, Neal McDonald, for their thoughts on Alex's progress in the first 12 days of the Vendée Globe.
Superb summary of how things have gone to date, and the prospects for the near future! Alex must feel confident. assuming nothing "weird" happens - hitting a UFO, freak wave in southern ocean etc
Stay strong and true daddyo your course is beautiful and amazing your experience and knowledge is perfect example of everything you have learned over the years bring it home.
....and fully taking in the brilliant scenery....compared to Alex in his black sterile dungeon, lol. I'm rooting for Alex, but....that cockpit/cabin? No thanks....
@stimmo77 It's an interesting equation, those well behind will find the wind filling in down to Rio and then they pick up the westerlies in the South Atlantic. Those in the lead have had to take the SE route where they could find light winds blocking their route later in the week. Time will tell.
The Hugo Boss sailboat looks so damned Cool! It would be awesome if I could have it after the race. Alex, if you are reading this, please think about donating the boat to me. I will take very good care of her. You can borrow it back anytime.
