Lovely words, I must say between yourself, Boris and Pip I'm now absolutely hooked on ocean racing; something I suspect will stick with me for years to come!
Pip didn't have the right boat. It's the oldest from all the sailors. Boris did an amazing race but he was not fortunate. As a frenchman, ocean racing is very popular so the Vendée Globe is always followed and the finish line for the winner is always live on TV as it was last night (for Charlie Dalin).
@@guyelmouchnino6531 I'm from the UK and I wish it was as big in the news here as it is in France... I don't know why it isn't, we are surrounded by water after all!
@@simonharris7223 You're absolutly right. But in th UK, as Australia, and NZ you're fond of ocean racing with a team boat or match racing. In France, we love solo ocean racing since Eric Tabarly in the 70's.
You are a great ambassador for your sport...inspiring and engaging....great to hear your views on the heroic finish to the Vendee Globe. All the skippers both those who have finished and those still at sea have of given of their best! That makes us very proud.
Absolutely true. His issue however is that nobody cares. The man is an incredible whiner and demotivated even his original fans. He gave the impression though to be faster than all.
Very magnanimous words from you Alex! I love how despite your own disappointment with having to exit this race early you can still be so happy for the other competitors. Bring on 2024 I say!
Great words indeed. But not amazed by them. It is all I would expect from a great sportsman and lover of the sailing sport and Vendée. All those skippers have tremendous respect for each other!
Alex you're right about the stories coming from Boris and Pip. The French skippers had some formidable obstacles to overcome but told us spectators nothing about them until after they finished :(
Thank you Alex for those wonderful words you have for all the skippers. A true gentleman you are , you have (and had long before ) all my respect and admiration, even more so now . I wish you all the best in your projects to come.
Hope we will see you on the next Vendée and you will broke the record of Armel with your beautiful machine. You really deserve it for all you bring to this race.
Lovely genuine words!! Gutted for you. I have never watched or been intrigued by such a loonnngggg fantastic race!! Followed you all everyday. You are so lucky to of been given such an awesome job!! Safe travels.
Alex you are not only a brilliant asset for your sponsors, but a huge added value for sailing lovers. Yours fair play commenting on the victory of others (which could be yours), makes you an example.
Thanks for some great comments on some captains that I have learned a lot about, learned to respect and who have provided much knowledge and entertainment. What a fine race is the Vendee Globe!
Hello Alex, i'm happy to see you fine and ready to race again ! Very generous and fair play for the other sailors ! i hope you'll be on the start line next vendee, with more luck this time. We all know that "AT" with no bad luck is a vendee winner ! good luck, Eric
Well said Alex. You were my weather front in the first half of the race, driving my interest, and the doldrums that followed. Then Boris filled in behind you. I really felt part of journey. I'm 100% behind you for the next one. 👏
Thanks for the video Alex. You guys certainly did a great job of putting this race out into our living rooms. Very much looking forward to the next one.
Boris following in your footsteps perhaps a little too closely! One might even say sleepwalking in your footsteps 😂 Hope you've got your next boat lined up Alex. You would have monstered this race with both rudders intact.
Fantastic edition, best yet in terms of excitement, drama and coverage both by key skippers and Andy back at LSDL. Hardly missed a single day of Vendee Live. Only missing The Boss at the front, the loss of which was cruel. Boris the real star with superb media and what a measured performance from such a small team. To be robbed at the end by a reckless fisherman, yet still remain cool, calm and comparatively composed. He's Iceman Hermann. Hopefully Alex will keep this boat and develop it for the next one in 2024. Time lost during Covid and loosing the keel surely played a part. Only 3 years and 9 months to wait!!! 😂 Come on Pip!!
I was heartbroken when Thomson retired but what a cliffhanger from start to finish this Vendée Globe ! It has a Shakespearen force : utmost effort and strentgth is required but only fate decides
Well said Alex, all competitors have done an awesome job. can you make sure you’re over the finish line next time please! we know you can win it. Can you do a few vlogs on the AC racing
What a classy man... Even if I am a frenchman, I would love to see you win the vendee one year, and make history. Take care and have a nice trip back home.
Hello alex, i’m french but i was very disapointed with yours problems this year. I told to my wife this englishman is a champion he has All my respect and I Think this year it is his year. He has more experience and he is so quick... I hope to see you and to drink one glass of beer or champagne (better champagne) for your Victory in 4 years... take care of you
I really missed your banter Alex. You are right Boris took up the mantel. I was pulling for him also. At this time he is 5th place. This was an exciting race. I agree anyone who completes it is a winner.
We only get snippets of all of them due to limitations, I doubt Alex had time but to mention a few, I'm sure Giancarlo together with each and everyone of these extraordinary sailors will be applaused
Well of course we'll all wondering what the first five would have been if you could have stayed in the race. Nice words to hear from you about your friends. It has been just an AMAZING race. I daren't count the hours I spent following it. Just waiting to see Pip's smile when she crosses the line.
Lovely video, great thoughts but just a quick note to the tech team - please find out why all of Alex's videos have had distorted audio. I have seen other onboards that don't have this issue so it could be a simple audio level setting somewhere in the chain.
Still on the race to be the first non French winner, and at a good place.
Bon vent!
Jean Le Cam in forth place with a non-foiling boat. Only 10 hours behind. Great Race. Also Damian Seguin did very good in an older boat. In all likelihood Hugo Boss will be fully compatible in 4 years, and by this time will be a well tested boat.
It would have been double the excitement if you were in the race till the last Alex . I started following boris straight after your excit , as he spoke English and came accross as a great guy !
Alex I’m a wood carver , as you are the ‘boss’ The Vendée Globe attracts more and more sailors to this event,The singularity is to finish? For those that do finish the appropriate trophy It’s my suggestion is a wood carving-representing a ‘ globe’ . Showing their route - name - position -year , all globes equal in size ? [i’d love to make one for PIP] Jacktar
@@johnshaw8327agreed. i was also surprised the other ones didn't make more videos or at least videos in a language that regular people can understand :D
I hope, the vendee globe jury is gonna investigate about boris Herrmanns accident. Some people claim, it was a frenchman, trying to stop, that a german is gonna get the third place
What a load of crap. The same people believe 5G is what gave us Covid so they can inject us microchips... Oh and don't forget the Vendée is hoax because the earth is flat...
