What caught my eye (In Australia) is the price. The Sketer is $650 AUD, where as the Maxx v2 is $1250 AUD! Massive difference! Great video as always Amber!
Seriously? That can't be right!!! I like Traxxas, great RCs, but my biggest gripe with them is how overpriced they are... Razor RC articulates this very well on his reviews when he talks about what you get vs what you pay and it's quite evident when you look at it that way. When you look at this Sketer there's pretty much nothing left to upgrade on it, great quality metal parts all over and when you contrast that with the MAXX which is pretty much all plastic then you have to wonder, how are they justifying their prices? I still love my MAXX though!
Atleast 650 basically what we pay for the maxx definitely go for the skeeter. You could buy there roller model and skeeter for that price . Hell couldn't you have someone from USA ship to you guys or is that illegal?
@@paulclancy2404 my prices are in AUD, so the sketer price is about the same as what Americans can by it for. But with the maxx v2, for some reason in Australia it costs way more over the original maxx 🤔
Both are great trucks! To me it comes down to one simple thing, parts availability. Here in the U.S Traxxas parts are pretty easy to get (or hard with supply chain) so if I break a Maxx part there is a 99% chance I can just to to one of my LHS and they will have what I need.
Great job Amber, the truck seems to be aimed more towards the handling side out the box, if you put some bigger tyres on it and gear it up it will become more of a stunt truck

I have the Maxx V2 with $1k into it and I think that the Sketer is still beefier. I'll be bashing it tomorrow (the Sketer that is). I put dual fans on the motor and a heat sink. 16t pinion. I feel like it needed a bit more than the 13t stock pinion.

One of my favorite RU-vidrs (after y’all of course! 😜😉) has so many issues with their customer service, with some of the replies being outright rude, that I have a hard time pulling the trigger on one. Traxxas always takes care of ya if it’s even needed.
Yes they need to work on how they reply to customers. I had the Kronos V1, at first they was helpful but when I tried to explaine the issues and what they should do to fix them in the future they got real rude. That was the owner of Corally, so they have a lot to learn on how to keep customers.
