a lot of people don't think of it and realtors don't care. listen to the guy talking about loving living on the water. he said he's ready to take off by who's going to buy that?
A significant portion of these homes were built decades ago. The flood maps shift regularly depending on how new construction affects the wet lands. Kingwood in particular went from a population of around 20K people to almost double since the pandemic. They've had at least three new subdivisions go up since then and an HEB that was knowingly built on a lot that floods. COH gives out permits to just about anyone anywhere, I guess.
That’s so messed up that people let that lady buy that house and never told her it has a history of going under water every couple of years. Everyone out here in this area knows that. Her realtor absolutely knew. Super sad. What a mess.
Houston hasn’t gotten rid of little Nazi Hidalgo yet? What a shame. She was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. I fled and have never looked back.
It’s funny how sure I can be that Lina Hidalgo is nowhere near a Nazi even though I’ve never heard of her. Just because of how insane the left has gotten
River Plantation has flooded severely a minimum of three times since the 1970's. It has actually been more times than that but that's how many times my mom's cousin got flooded out of that neighborhood, once all the way into the 2nd floor, destroying everything they put up there to protect after having flooded the downstairs the first 2 times. She finally moved. Her son now lives in the same neighborhood, different house. In fact, one he bought cheap after the last flood. Must be a really nice place to live. Prayers for safety for people of that area!
I haven't lived in kingwood for 20 years, but I grew up there in the 80's and 90's. This reminds me of several hurricanes and a handful of untimely water release from Lake Conroe. Hang in there guys. At least it probably won't be like the flood of 94'.
Thank God I live in SOUTHEAST N.M, where my house will never flood! My insurance carrier, doesn't even consider my house to be in a flood plain! I cant even buy flood insurance, because it isnt necessary! Prayers for all in Texas!
A lot of homes being sold to out of towners uneducated about the rinse and repeat homes are stuck . The big price elevator with real estate just is a punch in the gut . The sale of the homes should have come with a manditory insurance for flooding being stuck in a flood plain , but those who are without a mortgage and paid cash with no insurance are the worst off . That’s if the insurance co. don’t dip on them .
Ima Survivor Sanctuary has been crazy busy getting all their animals out. They're even taking their pigs to their other property. If they tell you to leave then you leave. Its not worth risking death.
post glacial rebound, 23.5* additional tilt... ocean water at 130* magnetic pole shift... its not just climate... and much of it could have been exaggerated by humans and directed energy weapons...
Look up the political side of water releases from Lake Conroe. Apparently it has been a brouhaha there for several years. They refused to release water from the dam until it's too late to help in a rainy situation.Because they're afraid their shallow lake won't fill back up for the summer if the rain doesn't come.
@helenpauls1496 150 people are already suing for Harvey's damage, now this damage is along the same flood path, it doesn't take a genius to realize if I10 hasn't been fixed which it hasn't every flood that happens until it is is the states fault duh. If you're affected by these floods and you don't seek out legal help, you're just fools.
The Supreme Court took up that farmer's case whose property got turned into a LAKE after they raised the I-10 on embankment and put in a median divider wall WITHOUT installing culverts underneath!
@user-uo7fw5bo1o exactly, and until those issues are fixed, any subsequent flooding caused by said issue is sueable. People living in these areas should be made aware of their rights.
YES!! GENIOUS!! THAT THEY THE TAXPAYERS THEMSELVES PAY EHO ALSO PAY THOSE STATE OFFICIALS THEIR WAGES WHO NO MATTER WHAT, THEY DONT REALLY LOOSE ANYTHING!!.......ANY STATE OR EVEN CITY THAT PPL SUE, THEY REALLY ARE COSTING THE FELLOW CITIZENS, THOSE OFFICIALS REALLY LOOSE NOTHING..ITS THESE KINDS OF THINGS THAT I FEEL MAJORITIVELY PEOPLE FAIL TO REALLY CONNECT THIS REALITY!!! BUT DONT YOU WIRRY!! PASSING NEW RULES & REGULAYIONS THAT CREATES VARYING LEVELS OF PUNISHMENT TO THOSE POLITICAL FIGURES HAVE AMERICAN CITIZENS BY THE THROATS LAUGHING AS THEY LIFT US UP OFF THE TO DANG US OVER THE LEDGE OF THE TEIN TOWERS, AND IT JUST KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER TO THEM ALL EACH NEW TIME THEY REALL PULL OFF ALL NEW TERRORISTIC PLANS GOES AS PLANED. AND THEY ARE ALREADY SEVERAL MOVES AHEAD!!!! SO YA. THAT ILLUSION OF THINKING IT GETS PPL ANYWHERE HAS A HUGE FLAW IN THAT WHOLE THOUGHT PROCESS THAT NO WAY IN HELL CONGRESS WOULD EVER PASS LAWS THAT CHANGES THIS REALITY!! UNTIL THAT CHANGES, THIS WILL KEEP HAPPENING........ AINT LIFE GRAND!!!!
Yeah... Houston is my stomping ground and yes it is strong but it still floods and you need to temper your pride with common sense and self preservation. If they tell you to get out... Get out. Geez stupid people. There were people that refused to leave new Orleans... They suffered and died. Just be careful everyone, want you all to make it.
i don't know about this area but in NO, a lot weren't stupid. they were poor with no way to get somewhere else. hopefully this isn't like what happened to them.
I grew up in Pasadena but my parents moved us into Deer Park when Pasadena started to get overrun and the home prices and quality of life were going down. But I left ASAP via the military and got to see the world as a teenager. Been back a few times since then, but it's just a damn hot swampy depressing place to live. Hurricanes, they can't keep the power on during the winter due to switching to solar/turbine, etc. My mom lives in Clear Lake, dad in the beautiful Woodlands, but I'm much happier living overseas in a tropical country.
Blaming various means of electricity production for what the whole country knows is a foolish reliance on TX’s own faulty, outdated & unprotected equipment (& not as a part of the reliable national grid, as well) is just sad.
