They need to significantly overhaul the graphics. This looks extremely dated, i cannot even tell which of the two presented "VFX" are the new one and which the old. Both look old and unconvincing. As harsh as it sounds, but i always have to think of a review of this game couple of years back where it was said that sadly, with all the efforts put into this, they still "polished a turd". It is indeed a shame because the flight sim world does need a new, fresh and competitive platform. DCS is decent but in terms of WW2 content still limited. Great Battles has inferior flight model, low fidelity aircraft and the limitation of the engine, "no four-engine bomber", is ridiculous given the fact that the entire air war in the west from 1942 onwards, was about four-engine bombers trying to hit strategic targets in Germany. They add all the high flying fighters, the dedicated bomber killing FW190 with additional cockpit armour, but no bombers to utilize them against except A-20 or B-25. CLoD needs to replace the horrible UI into something that doesn't look like its from 1995 and fresh graphics / lighting.

​@KBKriechbaum having flown lots of Clod visual update beta. I can tell you the ground looks miles miles better than IL2. Which has such terrible ground graphics its almost abstract. Yes it's a house. You can tell it's a house. But it looks like a monopoly house. Trees looks treeish enough to tell it it is trees. But they don't look like real trees. It's one of the many reasons I very rarely fly IL2 now. In vr it just pulls me out of the immersion. In CloD the ground looks like actual ground be it at 20 000 feet or 50 feet. I find it very enjoyable to do hedge jumping in the tiger Moth. The ground has proper 3d undulating ground, small hills, small valleys. Etc. While in Il2 it all seems flat even when it not. And clod buildings look like actual buildings. It's not anywhere close to DCS, but DCS is in a different league.

@@KBKriechbaumwanna talk about a totally unfinished game oh wait that’s DCS, total TURD, broken and unfinished not to mention no dynamic campaign. I prefer CLOD any day.

Hope it will be a VR mode with proper VR Controller support and not require us to use mouse and keyboard or other desktop controlls. Would be nice to have an alternative to VTOL VR which isnt focusedon modern air fighting.

Maybe if it's not out it's maybe it's not ready don't you think ? I read somewhere that there was still bugs and crashes with VR. So let's be patient. Let's also not forget that Team Fusion started as a mod without the source code, so they have to create their own tools for that.

​@@SnaxDesAvions If something is that far away from release you don't announce it 5 years in advance and don't get beta testers, don't you think? There is no excuse for this BS, no matter how small team you have. And as a cherry on top absolute zero communication and explanation on why actually there is no delivery on promise. It's like it never happened. Promising more when you haven't delivered on your 4 year old promises is simply disrespectful, no matter whether you are a modder or a game developer. So, you reap what you sow, it's actually amazing that you even try to defend this approach. Look at BMS team, for example - they somehow manage to not do a crap like that even though they earn absolute zero in sales. Apparently the team is big enough to make assets in bulk (or at least promise them in 2024) but not big enough to bring long waited critical gameplay improvements.

@@FlyBy2507 Not sure about what forum you are talking and what point you are making, but OK. Why would I care about other work if at certain point it is pretty much impossible to simfly anyway unless it is in VR? I've tried this both with CloD and MSFS, and it is just not possible unfortunately, no matter how much I like the setting or the graphics. It's like watching YT video instead of actually playing. I've bought CloD on the promises of VR, and of course I feel cheated. Luckily I've played MSFS through gamepass, so I didn't loose anything. TF obviously struggles with getting more people in, and at the same time they already have the biggest theater and the most planes for WW2 era. So, what do they do to correct that? Right, more planes and textures. When the reality is that there is no VR flight sim right now on the market which can replicate big scale battles of WW2. So, they have all the chances to take that niche and make it a key selling point in their advertisement and instead of doing that they spend resources on more planes and textures. Hope you see through my attitude, though this all definitely pisses me off. If I didn't care about this game I'd not write all this, but I really do. As a side note, don't you get tired seeing this crap in the gaming industry overall? When actual gameplay and progress gets shredded in favor of new models and maps every single time? I get it when it happens with big companies with investors behind pushing for rapid sales and shiny posters, but here the sales are miniscule anyway thus giving opportunity to actually improve. Take VTOL VR which sold >200 000 copies (single dev BTW, a former modder of KSP) and is being played by 10 times more people than CloD daily, while being a VR-only game. We are seeing 23 people (!) playing CloD on average daily (steam stats), so we are making new planes and maps for what, those 23 people? This all just doesn't make any sense to me.

I bought the blitz in 2018 thinking vr woud be implemented in something like 2 weeks 😂

And Pacific theater too. IL2 has all the assets. Upgrading their 3D models should be possible with place holder FM for the Japanese planes.

VR is incredible in a flight sim.Very difficult to go back to a flatscreen.

Good to hear I'm not alone. I maped around 30 keys to my Thrustmaster Warthog via the Thrustmaster Software. All my keybindings in CLOD are gone, not one of my backups worked. Swichted to BoX then.

It is frustrating isn't it, I am like CLOD so much but each time I decide to play it always makes we wonder "is it going to work today?" I have BoX too but switched to '46 to play pacific.

I know exactly what you mean. Was a CloD hardcore fan 2016 - 2019 and member of the JG4, the largest German speaking "clan" so to say. The whole Geschwader moved to BoX. The cockpits and damage model of CloD are still unmatched.@@weasel6535

The TFS team work independently. They dont work on the Great Battles series, never have, and have no knowledge of how to develop that game. They are enthusiasts of Cliffs of Dover. They are not employed by 1C, and were not employed by them even when the rights to the CoD series belonged to 1C. Now though Tencent and Fulcrum publishing own those rights. So TFS and Cliffs of Dover are no longer connected directly to 1C.

There are 2 different games with different game engines. They are not compatible. There is the Great Battles series ( Battle of ... Stalingrad, Kuban, etc.). The second series is based on Oleg Maddox's Cliffs of Dover ( CoD Blitz and Desert Wings Tobruk).
