James I have an MB engine rebuilt by Jimmy Strauss Jeeps that is correct for the range . Thank you for watching and for your comment Very much appreciated.
This is very helpful as I am R&Ring my 3A engine in the next week or so. Would love to see a video of the procedure with the tub on though. Also, I have the same engine hoist and I don't think the reach is long enough to let me get at it from the front. You had the same issue with the engine pulling forward when it released. I worry that putting it back in would be an issue without adequate reach. Can you comment on this? Did it go back in okay? Thank you!
Tom A lot of folks remove the grill and of course radiator with the tub on. That might be an option for you. I was able to install in the chassis no problem . It’s funny you brought it up, I was just looking at the installation videos I need to edit and put together 👍
@@TeamG503 I'm glad to hear you didn't have any problem getting it back in. I will certainly remove the radiator, but the limiting factor seems to be the bumper. the hoist hits the front bumper and puts the leveler about 6" short of the center point for the attachment. I think this would make it easy to come out but going back in I think I'd be fighting it. I could pull the bumper off, but seems like that shouldn't be necessary. Have you ever heard of anybody grabbing the engine from the side of the jeep by removing the front wheel? Would that be easier? I'm also stressing about how to get to the top bellhousing bolts. Your video and Mike Watson's are the only ones I could find on removing the L134. Who knew? Thanks for your help!!!
