As a Warriors/Steph fan haven't been able to appreciate them till now. Never seen AD smiling and happy before! Bam is amazing also. I wish Joel wasn't starting. Whatever is the thinking here on that...
@@sueprator9314No idea about why they still choose to go Joel starting, but i think Embiid needs to know how to play with other superstars on the team. I feel like he is so used to being the one to dominate in the team that he forgets how to actually play in a team, where all the starting and bench players can match your caliber of play.
I normally never agree with Steve Kerr when it comes to anyone over the height of 6'3 but he's smart for putting Embiid out first (offensively gifted, but tires easily) and bringing Davis off the bench who clearly excels defensively when paired with Bam. Its a disgusting combo and it makes it so teams have to play harder when they're tired.
That's what I forgot to mention but yeh the combination of Bam and AD off the bench could make up for the fact they've been outplaying Embiid in the starting lineup. Plus Having Curry and Lebron will make Embiids job easier
And... look at those screens he's setting for Steff. He's absolutely annihilating people out there. This matters too. Embiid is helping get Steff going.
i agree. I think the combo of bam and ad off the bench vastly improves their effectiveness. They're absolutely feasting off of tired starters or subs. I think it's a great roster decision. It allows their athletes to play like athletes, while allowing embiid to act like basically okc perkins lol. just be a big body to tire out the starting C. i really like the team usa coaching so far. (im Canadian and im hoping usa sucks lol, but i dont see it happening)
The entire bench def deserves credit, Booker, Hali was good in game 1 and 2 and Ant. I just wanted to highlight Bam and AD because their physicality has been so clear
Maybe they want to keep AD and Bam on the second unit to stifle the other team when the first unit isn't on. Other countries' teams might (big might) be able to hang in with USA's first unit, but their benches are nowhere near deep enough to contend the full 40 minutes.
This is exactly what I was saying to some people in the start, if Steph Curry is hot then you really cannot stop a team like this… they’re way too dangerous. You just have to hope they miss and that you could manage to out rebound them, somehow, and then score on them. Pretty hard to do.
Watching this team is a blast. Just seeing all the best players together and actually trying is something to watch. I wish these players would normally play for the country instead of just Olympics.
I think it works better with AD on the bench with Adebayo, together with Jrue Holiday that becomes the most insane lockdown line up that the NBA could not even afford to piece together, so therefore while your starters are resting, your best player cooks on offense while your best defenders are holding it down, meaning Team USA will probably see its biggest runs with its bench going vs other benches, where the difference in skill is truly massive as most of Team USA's bench is still the best players in the NBA and all of the best NBA defenders are on the bench but they will be guarding the other team's bench instead of the starters while Anthony Davis goes Pelicans mode instead of having to share the offense between Curry and LeBron and Embiid
Besides I guarantee you they beat them by one point despite Sudan having one of their sweatiest, try hard, best games whilst the US was having a cold feet, bad day game 😭🤣
Yeah this video just reiterates the same things that lost us gold in 2004, oh wow we’re so athletic and good individually nobody can stop us. But the rest of the world has shown that teamwork, good team defense, and 3 point shooting from everyone *can* not will but can sometimes beat pure individual talent. USA often looks frustrated and disorganized in their close games. I think we will win gold but it is very far from a lock.
But when it’s Lebron with bad body language it’s the end of the world and he’s an arrogant selfish player … They just hate people who aren’t shy and introvert, they hate when you have a big personality and you’re not afraid to talk, flex and show who you are because deep in them they would love to he as confident as him in front of the world… That’s why nobody talk about Kawhi even tough he’s the worst player ever in term of load management and completely ruining a franchise, if Kawhi had Lebron or ANT or Shaq mentality, not afraid to talk, dance and flex everybody would hate him that’s a fact 🤷🏾♂️
People talkin bout how the rules were more enforced and more contact being allowed would be why U.S.A. would be bad but when take out those rules people like curry, ad, bam and probably kd will flourish, and curry actually gets calls he should be getting instead of none at all

I think the USA has found a great mix in this group, they want Ant to go nuts off the bench just like how D Wade before, pair that up with 2 more energy guys who crashes the boards and just more on defense, then you have a 2nd string that is pretty much a death line up too, I just want to see Lebron-Steph-KD play, that would be something to see

@@brandontingley7059 Trust me, I experienced the Dream Team myself as a kid. I watched every Bulls highlight tape and followed the NBA in the 90s religiously. But even the coaching staff of the Dream Team understood that the weakness of the Dream Team was speed at the PG position on the opposing team. When you couple that with this year's Team USA's bench vs. the Dream Team bench, it's really hard to deny this team might be better. Also, Magic was passed his prime in 92, and Stockton is nowhere near as good as Curry as opening things up for the rest of his team.
Being a starter doesn't matter that much. It's about how many total minutes played. It's probably better he plays with the starters because you'll have Steph, KD and LeBron supporting him. If he messes up the bench, that would be devastating since the bench is dominating. AD and Bam are crazy good... The starter's job will be to wear out their starters and the bench's job will be to win the game, so I don't think starting Embiid is bad.
now maybe it is a bit of an extreme take, but at least from what I’ve seen, as a PLAYER, as a HOOPER, why isn’t Steph in debate with Jordan as the best scorer? It’s crazy how much respect he DEMANDS on the court, and if we’re going by eye test, his game is incredible

You guys are not far away from exceeding the US teams. US teams are too arrogant and eventually they will learn just like other sports. One prime example is American football, team USA got beat by Japan. Stay humble and stay focus and keep fighting.
Steve k as a coach is smart bring ad of the bench in that case he would not get to tired to fast and when he comes on the floor he will have that explosiveness in regards to defensive and offensive regulate his minutes its a big difference even tho he have good insurance😊

Team USA is scary because it is the biggest counry in the world where basketball is a major sport. The only other top level team where basketball is as popular as it is in the USA is Lithuania, which has a population 150 times smller than the US. So yeah. While the rest of the world is catching up, and france can actually compete for the title, USA is going to be heavy favorite for the foreseeable future

That's the whole reason why everyone knows he is soft like charmin. The guy could take contact anytime he wants but just leflops and crys to the ref constantly. He takes plays off and just quits even when he isn't tired, just not getting his way. The dudes paid millions, he is soft.
