Right I wonder how many players that have 5 rings are ranked over steph since that's the criteria. Hakeem and bird damn sure can't be in that category since steph has to win 5
I usually get hype when he does things like that. This time i stood up and calmly walked away. Insanity to take that shot let alone make it over 2 desperate defenders
Steph's career from college onward is the most inspirational shit..from too small with weak ankles etc to the goat shooter. People will respect his goat status more as years go by.. We talked about him getting double teamed with kd and klay in the same team..how about getting double teamed with 11 all stars around him? Most feared person to step on the basketball court along with mj
Legacy bulletproof, confidence sky high, aura maxed out. Olympic glow gonna be different going into the NBA season. Calling it now, Steph gonna be all world next season
The last shot he did was the most unique frame ever. It's the first time I saw Lebron wide open, with no defender in his face in the last minute of a final game.
Everybody being able to root for Steph made them realize how amazing he is. This is the last hurrah for the greatest of our lifetime. The next in line are mainly foreign. Luka, Joker, Wemby. People don’t realize how lucky we had it this year. Best 3 players in the league all American, all repping this amazing country playing alongside each other.
Oh yeah Alch, I saw Bron’s lack of enthusiasm after the game. You nailed it. Steph wouldn’t have cared if it wasn’t him at the end who saved the game. That’s why I love him: the team and winning is all to him. GOAT!
Imma go there, if Steph was darkskin he would’ve been in the GOAT convo awhile ago…This man has done it at every level. Dude has changed the game and adapted his game. Still underrated on defense and rebounding. Been such a joy to watch this guy over the years.💯
I don't know what else steph doesn't have. Championship, MVPs, Change the game, Best Shooter in the whole galaxy, Gold Medal (+2 iconic moments vs Serbia and France), great teammate, night night celebration. So inspirational the man the myth the legend CURRY! but this olympics I love how they all embraced their role especially Booker and Lebron. Facilitator LeBron really mix well with KD and Steph's scoring power. Then Booker really played the role well by just defending the perimeter and scoring every now and then like damn perfect gold game sheeesh
This was a typical Warriors game: Steph gets attacked on D, too many turnovers, Kerr not calling a timeout, Kerr putting someone into the game who you didn't think would play, almost blowing a lead late and....Curry bailing them out once again.
😂 chef did not disappoint the gsw fans *also don’t forget, classic GSW storyline to basically pull the Iguadala MVP card after it’s all said and done, too
Keep in mind, nike controls sports media. They can easily manipulate the narrative to say lebron carried the team when really he was high usage role player. Not crazy to think olympic committee and fiba got influenced
As long as I been a Warriors fan and seen alot of his crazy games. I realized how spoiled I got with watching Steph over the years. This game reminded how crazy he is. When he shot the shot over two people I got so hyped on the train I forgot I was in public.
Steph was never shy about taking the winning shot. Yes he had misses on those in the finals against LeBron and maybe a few others too but what separates him from the next guy is his ability never to be blinded by the moment. He takes the shot with the mindset that he’ll make it all the time.
There’s nothing more special in basketball than when Steph is throwing up bullshit and it just goes in. That final three over the double team is the epitome of Steph’s career, and his indomitable will to win.
It's just a shame the Warriors didn't put together a better supporting cast around Steph he deserves another shot at a title. I watch the NBA because of Steph Curry and the finals are boring without him. Warriors need to get Yabusulle he was incredible 😮
I love steph but bron did lead the team in all categories, curry didnt do much till he absolutely exploded in the final two games, lebron was just more consistent
Narratives are easy to control by sports media. Bron was a glorified role player with high usage rate. But with all the nike media portraying him as the leader, it makes sense fiba would just follow that narrative
The only two games that were close were the two most important games of the whole tournament - the semi final and finals. Curry saved them in both games (especially the semi finals, had the best game by a player in team USA history), made pretty much every clutch shot in both games, was the best player in both of them, led the team in scoring for the tournament, and he still didn’t win mvp. He didn’t even get one vote. Just ridiculous. Lebron would’ve won mvp even if he rode the bench the whole tournament.
Steph curry's Game 4 performance against the Celtics will stand as his definitive performance in career. The performance where he shut up every one of his haters and solidified his legacy. Everything else thats occurred afterwards has just been to an already golden Pile of Accolades that will speak for themselves when the conversation comes around of "is Steph Top 10 player in NBA history?"
If Dunleavy is at all awake, he should be doing his job. Yabusele was everywhere. His name was more memorable or mentioned too many times than his teammates because he's very active. He has great IQ of the game if used well. I think there will be calls that are being made now, but other teams are doing it especially after he dunked on LeBron
I have him 7 all time. To be fair i've seen people have him between 6-12 range all time, which too be fair is legendary. But people also need to keep perspective lets say most people have him 11 all time, that means there's only 10 other players that are BETTER than him out of 3000+ or way more players who've ever played this game only 10 are better. i have him 7 so their only 6 that i think are definitive better. it comes down to perspective at the end of the day.
I think it's emblematic of the Splash Bros as a whole. Both guys who can elevate into a tier above on a moments notice. Steph, a top 10 player who can play like a Top 5 and Klay, a star who could play like a superstar.
Hey Alc, looking forward to that breakdown tomorrow! Definitely agree this was one of the more fun Olympic games that I can remember. Id love to hear your take on the future of USA Mens Basketball in international play. I am worried that the guys we have now arent going to be enough in the next FIBA World Cup or 2028 Olympics - how can the program get some more chemistry built in advance as opposed to just a month before the tournaments. While we might have the best guys in the world and best team, the NBA might be the reason we cant get consistency across games. Maybe a topic for a Pod this summer...
After the game I was just thinking about the PROFOUND CONFIDENCE you have to have in yourself and your abilities to repeatedly take and and make all of those big shots down the stretch… on this stage…. With everything on the line!!!! Just Incredible!!!
It will supposedly be on at 8pm PDS tonight on NBC. Better be, damn!! Last game turned out to be only the end vs Serbia (on NBC). Can't wait to see it!
Kerr/Curry building a Brady/Bill legacy. Kerr deserves his fair share of praise after all the media criticising his rotations. Same old story when you doubt the chef he always produces. Of all the places in the Paris Olympics to put up a Michelin star performance. Warriors Goat, USA Goat 🇺🇲
If Draymond doesn't mess up that one Championship, there is no question... I would rather have that one championship than the two Kevin durants championships.
SC has been my favourite player since 2013 after Kobe was sidelined with the Achilles. But I can't elevate him above Magic just looking at accomplishments. Magic won 5x chips, 3x finals MVPs, and 3x regular season MVPs. Versus 4x chips, 1x finals MVP, and 2x MVPs for Steph. All NBA first team x9 times for Magic and 4x times for Steph. Magic didn't have a super long career but his resume is stacked. I know Kareem was there for a lot of it, but the individual accolades are still there (and Steph had KD for 2x of his championships)
