I did not plan to make this video. I was not even planning on taking them apart at all! It looks like it was good that due to a request from the comments section I did. There were some interesting findings.
This is not a normal review type video. It is just disassembly of a tool or tools. No proper commentary, just pointer so you can have a look and make up your own mind. I hope it is helpful.
These two tools had never been opened by me prior to this. Even so I have to say the screws on the C3 looked like they had been on and off a couple of times and I do not know why. Only I have had access to it since I got it!

Thank you brother for your efforts. As a fellow broke eastern european I salute. I looked into getting this one but it was quite funny that even the model they took picture of for the box had some crazy gaps inbetween the metal and plastic outer body, so I trusted my gut feeling and skipped. Not that I need it anyway, not a construction guy but a DIYer, I am just replacing old green brush tools I got with the blacks but good I missed on this one. Anyway, the green one i got of much earlier revisions hasn't had issue screwing one of those hex long nuts in wood. Whenever it had issues.. it was in super old hard wood and the issue usually is that the screw got cut off from the torque. Another word on the 5 year warranty since I saw you praising it in few comments over your vids - guess it depends on the country that serves you. They use local services. I only used once, had to email them couple of times for my case to be moved on forward, finally, after 30 work days and 4 emails to Lidl, the Bulgaria service called me. They did a replacement with a refurbished item, not new. Didn't pay delivery charges or whatever but I'm saying that - it depends on how good that 5 year coverage is by your local service standards. By the way, anything over 2 years (here in Bulgaria, and I believe in the rest of EU as well) is kind of a 'seller's good will'. So at any point inbetween the 2nd and 5th year they may show you the finger without consequences :D Thanks once again for the vids. Subscribed. Cheers.

I am the same as you! I don't use these tools to earn my money with them. I use them for DIY mostly. As you rightly observed I am concentrating on the cheaper tools hence the "Broke Life EU". Parkside at the moment I think see to be the best of the cheap tools, however they are slowly but surely prioritising profit more and more above the quality of the tool. I talk about the 5 year warranty at length, because as Lidl are a reputable seller I presume you could take them to court and not that they will for sure rule in your favour but you at least still have a chance. Whereas with ebay and aliexpress, good luck after the tool is delivered. However I do understand what you mean by after the second year it is up to the seller. As the mandatory warranty period in the EU is 2 years they will do a lot in those 2 years and after they are up they will start coming up with excuses no doubt about that. However you still have the 5 year claim on your side in any case. It stands to reason that if you make enough noise and the right one even after 4 years and 11 months they should acknowledge the warranty. Provided of course the tool is in the state they want it to be in, which is basically unused. And finally I want to say sorry you had to go through that, it is not a nice situation to be in. Not knowing what they will do with something you paid with your hard earned money for. At least it turned out in some positive way, not the best for sure but still OK. Thank you for the sub! It really means a lot! I don't ask for likes and subs on my videos, because I want to know that the people who decide to subscribe, leave a like or comment really want to be here and like the channel! Thank you for your time and I hope to see you around the channel!

Thank you, for making this "just for me" :) They were a lot more similar than I expected. I thought they would just ask Grizzly's supplier to just match the outside appearance and the specs, but it seems like they have copied the internal design as well. The driver board even looked like it came from the same supplier. Eliminating the spacer and having the C3's rotor directly touch the fan (presumably made from lower grade plastic) seems like a melty idea.

Just bought a C3 in this morning (B3 was not available) and I want to test it for now on wheel lug nuts (120/150nm) with both 2Ah and 8Ah batteries. If it works, I think I will do the same anvil conversion that you did so thank you for your videos!
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 7 месяцев назад
120Nm and 150Nm it should do easily. It can even do 200Nm with a full battery and heavy socket.
@sebastian9020

@@BrokeLifeEU Just an update, I burn two of those impact wrench. First one, worked even on 170 nm on wheel nuts, but after that, tried to test it again with 126nm but on "Expert" mode from the app (I saw on this mode that all leds were on, so I thought this mode is more powerfull than "Performance) and it blocked, wasn't able to unscrew 126 nm, tried a few more times until it started to smoke. Return that, bought another one, again on 126nm didn't work, tried different nuts, undo them with a wrench then torque again 112nm, nothing and I saw that the engine was working but the anvil wasn't moving... this time I returned everything back, batteries and the impact wrench. Second experience with parkside but this time was a fail. I know, that wrench it's not for wheel lug nuts but I was thinking to change the anvil if it would have worked 😢

@@BrokeLifeEUMaybe it'a a double standard? In different countries, in my case, Romania... Or the manufacturer change as you said in a previous video about c3... I saw a lot of tests with b3 wrench on youtube, and they were doing great job, c3 only on your channel and even though the b3 seems to be better than c3, c3 was doing a good job also..

Just got the C3. Compared to a 10yr old Makita, it vibrates a lot in hand, it's crazy loud, and the trigger is not sensitive at all: the drive only starts after the trigger is almost fully pressed, even though if you release it slowly it does slow down. I don't get why all youtubers test these things with huge lag bolts and car wheel bolts. These tools are for installing roofs and sheathing, and for that you need some precision when driving screws and that's what you should test, not how powerful it is, nobody cares for that except people who don't really do much with these tools.
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 7 месяцев назад
For the smaller wood screws I would always use a drill. It provides me with way more control and precision. I'll reach for the impact driver if the bolt is big enough to demand it. Otherwise the drill is my choice. That is why U use the other big lag/wheel bolts to show the power of the tool. However one must keep in mind this is above all a low budget DIY tool so it ca never go head to head with a Makita. The C3 especially. They have cut down on cost so much when I compare it to the B3 that even against a 10 year old Makita I am sure the Makita will be the better tool.

@@BrokeLifeEU ya i know they're crazy cheap and sometimes you can live with the limitations and sometimes you can't. sometimes you can even fix it like when they forget to grease the tool or sawdust gets into the motor like on their sabre saws which they keep selling with that defect
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 7 месяцев назад
Unfortunately QC is appalling in some cases. On the other hand I must admit it is because they are so cheap that I managed to buy my first power tools. I never had money and still don't for a brand new Milwaukee or DeWalt. Especially as I only use the tools from time to time and don't use them for my job at all. In time I of course understood the vast difference between Parkside and a proper Milwaukee or DeWalt but I think there is a place under the sun for Parkside. Only if they paid a bit more attention to their QC and a bit less to their profits. But that is impossible. I am sure...@@UGPepe

Wrong. For precision you use drill drivers, for power you use impact drivers/wrenches .

trigger sensitivity is a common isue on brushless drivers. I have a 1 year old brushless 18v makita and it has the same dead zone in the start. If you want really precise low rpm control you need a brushed one.

Except the thing C3 had factory defect according to you, what else changed? Performance, longevity, cheaper parts? Is it worse or better?
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 7 месяцев назад
I would say the performance is slightly less than the B3 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UcQ6JfIK-yQ.html As for the parts they look like a downgrade. Especially the motor. On the B3 the fins are closely fused together and on the C3 there are little gaps in between them which vary. So it is not like it is a feature or something.

No worries. It is my pleasure! In most cases manufacturers will go after anything in order to not accept a warranty claim. Although I have been lucky and I have never had an issue when I have had to resort to a warranty claim I would still advise people to be cautious. As I believe Parkside say somewhere that if any evidence of misuse or commercial use is found the warranty will be considered invalid.

On the side you see pictured you can see the brand "Parkside" and model number. On the opposite side you have another sticker with more detailed information about the tool. There you can find the manufacturer. For Parkside branded tools they are mostly one of three: Grizzly tools, Kompernass or OWIM.

B3 Kompernass > C3 Grizzly tools . I just got my C3 the other day. Quite disappointed with the downgrade(quality and performance) . I was looking to replace the old green brushed impact driver, but will be returning the C3 and waiting for the next version to be better and even better if it's from Kompernass.
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 7 месяцев назад
I think it will be a long wait for the next version. And it seems to me more and more tools are being made by Grizzly so even less of a chance to get a C4 version by Kompernass. But all things considered I don‘t think it is too bad for that price. Providing you got a good one!

Sorry about that, was a long day and I only made the video as a person requested it in the comments. As per the defect, look at the fins on the motor from the C3 one of them is bent... Also the fins I feel on the C3 are not fused together as well as they are on the B3.
