Thanks Barb, we really appreciate it. Lets be honest winter camping is hard and not super glamorous but there is real raw beauty out there that not everyone gets to experience and we love being able to share it.
I shall henceforth be known as "The Mustard Man" - What a delight to get a spot in the video!!! You made me cold... I had to put on my woolly, light the pellet stove and put brandy in my hot tea (Lots of brandy!) LOL - Your smiles lit up my face - SO happy to see you two (and Lulu) enjoying yourselves so much. Best of luck to Jack too!
Thank you my man, it was a wild one but fun. I've been trying to get in a blizzard for a few years now and the stars aligned lol. Jack is excited, he has made his decision. We will give updates soon. Stay warm, I could use a good Brandy Old Fashioned about now
Yeah it was a little weird for awhile when I actually started to think about the trees and the heavy wet snow. It was so magical though, we don't often get that much snow at one time.
Thanks brother, it was wild for sure and I will never forget it. Definitely not something that comes around all the time like they get out in the mountains.
Wow!!! great video. Jason I have said this before but I have to say it again. You capture the moment so well. Just amazing. You guys rock! See ya in 4 or 5 days.
Wow, what a beautiful wonderland! I’ve never thought about the weight of the snow on the branches- that’s scary. Glad you only had the branch on the hot tent. Props for you guys trying those dehydrated meals, now I don’t have to 😅. One of our heelers was a non stop fetching machine until she tore her ACL at 3 years old. That a beautiful pup you have. See you guys soon!
Lulu is just a nut, malinois energy never ends lol. It was so beautiful, yeah a learning experience for us and the heavy wet snow and trees, just never really thought much about it before this. See ya soon friends!!!
AWESOME ! I came across this video and quickly realized… I also camped in this storm ! I solo truck-tent camped up at Mauthe Lake in the Kettle Moraine Northern area. The snow was GREAT (all 14+ inches). SO cool to see other people out for adventures 👍
That is awesome, we love getting out in the winter, its almost my favorite time to camp. We were in Mauthe last year for one of our last winter camps, it was around April I believe. Love it up there. Thanks for checking us out!
Dang! Y’all are into some serious winter camping there. I know Melissa was tired and wanted something easy to cook but I don’t believe I’ve ever had a dehydrated meal that’ll beat a fresh cooked meal. I use a backpacking meal cozy to slide the package down into while it’s rehydrating. That’ll help let it stay warm in case the meal needs to hydrate longer than the instructions indicate and you won’t have to add more hot water and end up with a soupy meal. Great adventure, guys! Oh. Pack it Gourmet makes some easy to hydrate single serve meals that Melissa may like and they have a giant burrito meals, you supply your own tortillas.😄
Lol I think it just was not hot enough, that makes sense, I do seem to remember when we have done them way in the past that we kept them warmer while they were rehydrating. It was a fun one, wild but fun. Yeah she had not slept much that first day, right out of work and on the road. Thanks for stopping by you guys.
I love doing our own dehydrated meals. I eat so plain and it's difficult to find things that plain. Super simple. Once you try it, you'll love it. But it was really fun to try all the different varieties available out there. It's such a bummer that we missed out on the blizzard - we live too close to the lake and only got 2 inches. But we were surrounded by the snow. We headed north once the roads were fairly clear. We weren't brave enough to camp with the negative wind chills, though. It's good to know that winter camping is available in the Kettle Moraine. - bean
It's been such a weird winter, crazy how there is more snow south vs north right now. Yes Southern Kettle has this Ottawa lake campground open all year. She is definitely all gung ho to make her own dehydrated stuff now. Thanks for stopping in you guys!
once again beautiful shooting, glad non of the limbs did any damage. oh yea, our dog Bella was glued to tv whenever Lulu was on. She even started whining with her lol
Slim Potatohead created a pellet stove from a big Ammo box that he has used in his small trailer. Would be hard to find a spot for it in the Tag though.
So funny that I just came across this. I saw you guys pulling out onto Hwy 67 when you were leaving. I was on my way home from work. I've winter camped in my teardrop too but only in flurries and around 30 degrees. When I saw you I thought to myself, that's next level.
Yes, Ottawa Lake, we have been there once before a few years ago in winter. I knew it was close enough to home and still in the blizzard. He was 🙏, looking back and forward, I will remember to look at trees etc next time. Its not something I thought of, we have never camped in that much heavy wet snow and wind. Thanks for stopping in!!!
Aww man Linda if I knew you were this close we would met up for coffee or something, although that day was probably not the best to be out and about. It was Kettle Moraine Southern for sure. Ottawa Lake
Hello and thanks for the great video.. We love your content and scenery is awesome but its hard to watch with you two talking at the same time and talking over each other. iBut a great video
So IF we are at a plug in site which is rare for us, we have this little heater, see link. Most of the time though we just use extra blankets and layers. We have been in www.amazon.com/heater-Programmable-Adjustable-Thermostat-Display/dp/B07DCKFJLM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=plug+in+heater&qid=1707623371&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1&smid=A2LN73PHCTFTIO pretty cold stuff in it without heat
@@Live2dayWanderland I also have a TAG Boondock that i heat with a diesel heater. Heater sits outside with a hose thru the window. It has a remote so i can control it from inside the tag. I also travel with a propane/gas generator and small electric heater , should the diesel heater fail. Love your videos.
There were times, in my mid 60s Airstream, where it would be floating on the snow. I think this trailer can do the same. It's a great feeling to see it come through rough conditions.
It really is a great little camper, we have thoroughly tested it out in the last 4 yrs and it continues to amaze us. Thanks for stopping by, appreciate it 🙏❤️
I have to say I'm with Jason on this, no thank you on the curry. But I will say Jason next time I see you I'm going to have to make you some of my enchiladas and see what you think.

Definitely not at any high altitudes, mostly the midwest. Appreciate your comments about my wife, please don't mistake me giving her a hard time or our banter for disrespect. We have been together since high school, over 30yrs. The average marriage last 5-8yrs, we are doing great and have been through hell and back together. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed rest of your weekend
