Today I am starting a new project. I am building a crate engine for my brother. he drives a 1988 ford Bronco with a 351 Windsor engine. I am building a new engine for him to put in. If you enjoy the video please like subscribe and share.
Much thanks for the chill background music. As an older guy I can’t stand so much of the background music on many of the videos. Thank you for being non-offensive.
If the engine is really grungy, it's worth it to toss it in the back of a pickup truck and going to a car wash with a can of engine degreaser (which tends to be lye, so you want to have skin and eye protection when water splashes back at you--standard oven cleaner tends to only tackle protein-based grease) and a brush (if you live in the snow belt, a brush for cleaning off your car might give you the leverage you want over a regular hand brush for scrubbing floors).
Off to a good start bud, head bolts can be a tough fastener to break free, next time reach across the motor from the opposite side with your body bracing the engine so when you pull on the breaker bar you have counterforce to keep the stand from moving.
even better, if you have a four-wheel engine stand (prevents tipping over) you can stand on it while wailing away at fasteners and the stand won't leveraged into moving under you.
I have actually found that eBay is the best place to buy one I would recommend that you get a good brand like engine tech and the other thing if your looking for one on eBay make sure you know if your bearings are need to be larger hope this helps I am on Instagram if you have any other questions
