The extended official video for the song showed Wayne Gretzky/NHL All-Stars. I think this was the radio edit version.

Wow , I’ve heard “ We Are The World “ and “ Do They Know It’s Christmas “ nonstop over the past 40 years, but I hadn’t heard this song or “ Hands Across America “ since those 40 years!

There's a great documentary about how this all came together on pretty short notice. Bryan Adams was a major contributor to writing the lyrics basically overnight. David Foster said when the tune came to him, he could hear Gordon Lightfoot signing the first lines. Very much worth a watch. Burton Cummings of the Guess Who is worth of a reaction all about himself. The Guess Who sold more records in 1970 than The Beatles!

Jim Vallance is on drums 🥁. Paul Dean of Loverboy on guitars 🎸. Engineered by Vallance and Bob Rock. The instruments were recorded at Little Mountain ⛰ Sound Studios 🎙, Vancouver. The singers were recorded in Toronto. Full credits are in Wikipedia. Bruce Allen (manager of Foster, Adams, Jim Vallance, Loverboy, BTO, Prism, Payola$) handled the business side. The documentary has details. In the documentary, Foster recorded Neil Young 3 times. He sang offkey each time, to the detriment of Foster. Young responded, "Well, that's how I sing, man 👨!" He referred to the offkey singing of his friend Bob Dylan in We Are the World. The other singers in the studio 🎙 laughed! L🤣L

IMO, "Tears Are Not Enough" is a better song than "We Are The World" and "Do They Know It's Christmas".

@@HysteriaVideos Check out the documentary on this song, if you haven't done so already. Very interesting info! This was recorded on February 10, 1985; "We Are The World was recorded on January 28, 1985. Also, look up "Good Rockin' Tonite" and include Tears Are Not Enough in the search. You'll see Huey Lewis sitting down with David Foster (producer) being interviewed on how this all started.

More. Paul Hyde of The Payola$ was born and raised in the UK 🇬🇧. The late Ronnie Hawkins was born and raised in The USA 🇺🇸. Alfie Zappacosta was born and raised in Italy 🇮🇹. The cover in 2022 kept David Foster, Corey Hart and Dan Hill in their parts. Many new voices.
