My brother passed away in 2004 with Cancer. He was only 28 at the time and this was his favourite song. He bought a guitar a couple of years prior and tried to learn but the battle was to strong. I learned the first part of this song and he would have me play it over and over again for him. After he passed He wanted me to have his guitar. Everytime I hear this song it brings back so many memories good and bad. I have to say this version is the best I have ever heard..

I don't think people realize how difficult it is to be able to sing while at the same time playing the bass, the rhythm and do all the fills seamlessly at the same time. You are either super talented or you practice for hours and hours.

Beautiful.... simply beautiful! For all guitarists out there.... Being able to technically play the song is just the beginning. Having the musicianship and hours of practice to be comfortable enough to REALLY feel it.... WOW! That is next level. Jeez, I wish you and I were neighbours!

Rest in peace grandma, mom, and grandpa.. I love playing guitar to alleviate the sadness, but this is one of those difficult songs to play since it brings all my memories to the surface. I tremble every time I try to play it. I'm amazed at how Clapton could perform it live considering how personal it is to him. You have to have some level of disconnect from the emotional connection or else you won't be able to perform it. He's a legend for sharing this with others and showing that despite feeling alone in your loss, it's something that nearly everyone goes through and has to accept. Love this song always makes me think of my daughter Shannon who sadly passed away in 2018 aged 19. Think of her everyday but i know one day i will be with her again. Just wish i could have just an hour with her just to tell her how much i really did love her. I just hope she is looking down on me and im doing her proud been strong. This was one of my favorite guitar tabs I bought in the early 90's along with lots of metallica, chilli peppers and a bunch of grunge from the time. It was an excellent song to learn but never mastered. Early 90's was a golden age of guitar, or more like the end of the golden age of guitar. Followed by a time where everyone just wanted to jump up and down to low skill high energy punk power chords and electronica big beats. Eric Clapton was the first of the MTV style unplugged shows during that time also. Great song and clean rendition Yoni. Awesome.

What most people don't really know is that one of the first great fingerstyle guitarists out there was Eric Clapton. The way he composed this background accompaniment to his song, with such a seamless flow, perfect chord progression, and complementing chords, it's one of the best songs to play and sing on guitar. Thank you Yoniric Schlesingclapton for playing it the way it was made to be played. Because there are many musicians out there that take a beautiful song that made it big, and ruin it by playing it their own way, which is no longer the original perfect design and is no longer capable of going famous. But you played it like the way Eric Clapton intended for it. So great job!

I honestly can't stand Eric Clapton, but I respect him as a guitarist and song writer (to and extent). But this song, and particularly your rendition, has helped me a lot. This song makes me remember my mom. Who passed away a year ago 😭😭. I still miss her so much. No words can explain how deep i miss her. I believe she now is watching and smiling at me from heaven😭😭. I just regret why God brought her too soon before i take care of her and treat her with my own things, it seems like i didn't do anything to please her yet. 😭😭. Mom, i really love you. Nothing can replace ur love in this heart ❤️😭 i kind of regret why this missing still grows everyday😭. I literally know every one will be gone someday so i ever prayed to God in order to let my parents alive till i make something for them but God's purpose is never unguesseable and it's perfect! So, i now live with my only father and we both cry every time when we visit my mom's grave 😭😭. Mom, i love you so much.....
