A few people have asked about all of the teaware on the shelf behind me in my videos. Here's a tour of my collection. My camera work is a bit shaky but I think you'll get the idea. :)
Please let me know if you have questions about tea or if there is anything that you would like to see on the channel.

Your collection is beautiful! So many of the pieces have a minimal design, which is an aesthetic I really appreciate. Also, this might be a silly question, but what is a show pour?

Thank you! My Chinese pronunciations are terrible, lol. I'm thinking I might have said shou puerh (aka the ripe or cooked kind)

Nice video. There are definitely certain items that make tea enjoyable. It would be interesting to know which pieces you use the absolute most and why. My only nice teapot is wrapped up in a box and in storage and I am brewing directly in cups with a strainer maybe not the best way to go but that is what I'm doing at the moment. Perhaps I'm mentally getting ready to brew differently. I have a couple Pu erh teas in stash that I want to try out. I've never brewed Pu erh at home.

Thanks! I definitely tend to use my plain porcelain gaiwans the most. They are the most neutral, making them the best vessel to use when I'm reviewing tea.

Hiii! I am SUPER new to proper whole leaf tea,in fact,I literally,2 days ago ,seasoned a yixing pot,for Oolong. It is a tiny one,and I got tea drunk after no less then 12 brews,probably could have brewed a few more. I look forward to seasoning one of my other pots for that precious yellow tea! But I have a question,I have,well not a teapot,but some sort of serving vessel,it is a vessel,with a wood handle,and inside of that ,is a tinier bowl,and it sort of hangs there,and as I pour,it maintains a perfectly horizontal position! It’s magical,but I have no idea what it’s called🙄 Do you know what this is? I would appreciate your knowledge,and will happily view the rest of your videos,this is my first view😊

Congrats on your new pot! Getting really into tea is such an exciting journey. I think I know the kind of vessel you mean. They're sort of a hybrid teapot/gaiwan. Some companies call it a lazy gaiwan. 😂

Ah haha,I appreciate your knowledge,thank you! Yes,tea is liquid poetry,it tells a tale,sings a song,teaches lessons. Tea is powerful that way.❤️

Do you recommend storing tea in glass containers in an open shelf ?
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 3 года назад
I wouldn't recommend it. Exposure to light will make your tea loose its flavor faster.

Very lovely collection! I have a question about porcelain Gaiwans. In your experience, is it normal for their lids to have a rough edge that’s unglazed?
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 2 года назад
Thank you! Yes, I'd say it's pretty common for lids to have a rough edge. It can help with making sure the lid doesn't slip while you are pouring.

@@teaformeplease Thank you, that helps to know. My only concern is that it may be porous and affect the taste of the tea (like Yixing teaware). But maybe it’s not very porous?
@teaformeplease
@teaformeplease 2 года назад
Usually not. Porcelain is fired at a higher temperature than yixing clay, for example. If you do get some tea stains a quick rub with a magic eraser will remove them.
