Bass talk and pizza! Frank Bello is such a cool dude...even though he's not from Queens LOL. Will have to try that pedal.

I learned to play bass to Among the Living 35 years ago. Frank is such a class act and I've always been envious of his tone. Certainly checking that pedal once it comes out.

Frank, you nailed it when you said that Andrew's ears are God sent. Using a SansAmp Bass Driver since 1996 (now a DP-3X since it came out) - I cut through every mix. Tech21 build the holy grails of bass pedals! I guess I have to check another Tech21 bass pedal ;)

The DP-3X up to this point is their golden pedal to me! Of course it slays in a rock band but I actually most of the time use it in a pop context without any distortion and it kills! No muddy frequencies, exactly my kind of compression that feels punchy and keeps your dynamics in line and having the tuner and DI out in there is just so convenient to me! I just wish there was a version with to separate channels or some kind of FX loop to get a second distorted sound of it. It would be my dream fly rig!!! I’m definitely going to check out Frank‘s pedal. Cheers from Berlin/Germany!

@@bazZzment I am completely with you! I would also fancy an aux in for better practising at home - and a rackmount version would be awesome too:) Maybe Tech21 should consider it as there is no dUg Ultra Bass 1000 available anymore. Cheers from Karlsruhe/ Germany!

I have the SD 48 pedal & the DP-3X pedal. They both sound outstanding when I'm playing at home with no other instruments. I'd have to be back in my band to see which pedal sounds better in the mix. But both are tremendous pedals. I thought the DP-3X was my final SansAmp but once I heard that Frank's pedal was in the works I couldn't wait to get one. Outstanding job Tech21!!

Hearing the bass intro to Caught in a Mosh in 1988 was one of the things that made want to learn how to play the bass. The other things held "responsible" 😄 for letting my "talent" loose on the unsuspecting neighbors were Cliff Burton’s bass intro on For Whom the Bell Tolls, and Flea’s slap bass on Black Eyed Blonde.

Notice how the best bands such as Anthrax, Pantera, Van Halen (and of course more) usually start with a brother or childhood friend drum/guitar duo? That's not by coincidence. You grow up together.....share the same struggles, environment etc you become ONE. Nowadays it's almost impossible to find another musician to vibe with because all the ones that are already 'made for each other' are pretty much already in bands and 'taken'. I thought I had a chance at the thrash scene in the early 90's California but unfortunately I could never 'connect' with anyone I could vibe with and so it just became a lost dream.....eh...I want a 'do over!' lol.

Charlie is a great drummer. I do, however, often wondered why he didnt record with a click, though. You can hear his meter change wildly, within one song.

Finally !! The Frank Bello Street Driver 48 has arrived & it sounds awesome ! It was worth the wait, and it has that Schmegilka that Geddy & Tim so fondly speak of 😀 Good job, as usual. Tech 21 You're going to be grabbing my cash yet again 💰 I'l definitely l be getting the Street Driver 48 😂

Looks like ive got some saving to do lol. Frank was the bass player that really made me appreciate the instrument. His stuff in Anthrax is what inspired me to play bass.
